Canon has taken the wraps off a pair of new lenses, the EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM and the EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM, both of which are wide-angle zoom lenses. In addition to the new lenses, the maker has also tossed a new white EOS Rebel SL1 into the mix, giving photographers another color option.

Accoring to the Nikkan Kogyo, Canon has decided to let go of its low-priced digital compact camera business and instead focus its resources on high-end, and more expensive, digital single lens reflex or DSLR cameras.

Canon has rolled out several new digital cameras today and among them are three new compact Elph cameras. The new cameras include the Canon PowerShot Elph 150 IS, 140 IS, and 135. Canon promises that all three of the cameras will capture high-quality images and 720p resolution video.

Canon has announced a new gaggle of digital cameras this evening, among them being the latest entrant to its EOS Rebel product line, the EOS Rebel T5 DSLR. This particular Rebel is aimed at entry-level photographers, and brings with it an 18-megapixel CMOS APS-C sensor and a DIGIC 4 processor.

Canon has issued a minor recall for certain versions of its PowerShot SX50 HS digital camera over improper construction of its rubber viewfinder eye piece. In some models, an oopsie that took place during construction of the rubber covers could result in an allergic reaction to one's skin in the form of irritation and a rash. Those affected can have their camera tested and serviced for free.
