Canon PowerShot N hands-on

Canon has a lot of stuff on display here at CES 2013, but it's introducing one new camera that's small in size but packs quite a few features. It goes by the name of the PowerShot N, and like the recently released Samsung Galaxy Camera, one of the biggest features of this camera is Internet connectivity. With the PowerShot N, you can not only connect to your social network and upload the photos you take with your camera, but you can also connect to other devices to view photos on those. Canon rolls out the EOS-1D C in Japan, will bring it to the US soon

Canon has launched its uber-expensive EOS-1D C in Japan, and will be following it up with a launch in the United States rumored to take place in the next couple days. The 1D is priced at $11,999 and offers 18 megapixels in addition to a host of other features. For now, Japanese photographers can pick it up from Canon.jp. Canon unveils CanoScan scanner and new PIXMA wireless printers

Canon has announced its new wireless PIXMA printers, the MG6320, MG5460, and iP7220, as well as the CanoScan 9000F Mark II photo scanner. These additions to Canon's rather vast catalog of printers and scanners represent a nice addition for photographers. No word on when they'll be available, but we're guessing it'll be soon. Canon outs E-series lens duo: pro-zoom and whispering prime

Canon has snuck out a pair of new EF-series lenses, a compact prime to replace the well-esteemed EF 35mm f/2, and a 24-70mm zoom with L-series optics. The Canon EF 24-70 f/4L IS USM promises performance whether you're zoomed in or out wide, with a 7.9-inch macro mode and up to four stops of stabilization, and is targeted by the company at full-frame DSLRs like the EOS 6D. Canon’s Q3 2012 crunch: Income down a third as cameras struggle

Canon saw operating profit slump over 42-percent year-on-year, and net income fall by more than a third, according to the camera company's Q3 2013 financial results, citing continued low demand. Net sales reached ¥799.9 billion ($10.3m) in the three month period, Canon reported [pdf link], down 12.8-percent compared to the same quarter in 2011, and while it has been attempting to scythe away at costs, it still saw gross profit ratio dip 1.1-percent. Canon EOS 5D Mark III update brings uncompressed HD video next year

Canon has announced it will enable uncompressed HDMI video output on the EOS 5D Mark III in an upcoming firmware update, in response to specific requests from video pros enamored with the DSLR. The incoming update, due April 2013, will output high-definition uncompressed video data (YCbCr 4:2:2, 8 bit) from the HDMI port to an external recorder. Canon offers updated firmware for EOS-1D X DSLR adding new features

Canon first announced its new EOS-1D X DSLR camera aimed at the professional photographer in October of 2011. The camera was slated to launch in March of 2012 with a high-end starting price of $6800. Today, we entered the final few days before the iPhone 5 releases, and we found out that the device has netted 2 million pre-orders in its first 24 hours of availability. Some of those same pre-orders began shipping out from China over the weekend, and AT&T is claiming that the iPhone 5 is the most successful iPhone launch ever, which everyone could have probably already guessed. Canon EOS 6D: 20.2MP full-frame DSLR with WiFi and GPS

Canon has outed its latest DSLR, the EOS 6D, packing a 20.2-megapixel full frame sensor and integrated WiFi and GPS for transferring geotagged photos and video more easily. Directly taking on Nikon’s D600, the EOS 6D has a freshly designed CMOS paired with Canon’s DIGIC 5+ Image Processor, supporting 11-point AF and ISO 100-25600 (extendable to 50, 51200 and 102400).
