Canon PowerShot G5 X, EOS M10 silently appear online

Just last week, we saw signs that Canon was preparing three new digital cameras to cater to professionals and hobbyists alike. Now Canon has launched two out of three of those cameras, though surprisingly with little in the way of fuss or fanfare. Not that they are not noteworthy in any manner. The new PowerShot G5 X, for example, boasts of the first in the family to bear a 2.36 million dot electronic viewfinder. IFA 2015 might be over, but Canon certainly isn't done teasing the photography world with what could be. Late last month it revealed its plan to support the broadcast industry with the development of a 4K portable zoom lens. Now it is going the extra mile, pushing the boundaries of digital photography all the way to 8K. This includes the development of a Cinema EOS System 8K camera and an 8K reference display. Plus, it also has a 120 megapixel SLR camera in the works as well.

Canon develops 250MP APS-H CMOS sensor

Canon has announced the development of a new CMOS sensor for digital cameras that has the world's highest resolution for its size. The sensor is APS-H sized and has 250MP of resolution. That is 19,580 x 12,600 pixels. The little sensor measures 29.2 x 20.2 mm and boasts the highest number of pixels or a CMOS sensor smaller than the size of a 35mm full frame sensor.
