IFA 2007 – Canon boost Digital IXUS range to 12.1-megapixels

Canon EOS 40D
This much awaited device is finally going to be hitting store shelves within the next two weeks. It has been hyped up since this time last year and is finally arriving.
So what’s the difference you might ask, and that would be a good question, but with a resolution increase and integration of several features from a camera class above it, any good photographer should easily notice a difference. The resolution goes from 8.2MP in the 30D to 10.1 in the 40D.

Canon 40D to be announced soon?
The Canon 40D DSLR has been one of those things that's been rumored to be coming out for some time. Speculation has been going around since sometime last year, yet not that first shred of evidence of its existence has shown itself. That is until the CIPA (Camera & Imaging Products Association) slipped up.
While looking at the CIPA PictBridge-certified product page it casually mentions the Canon EOS 40D. Of course that page only lists model numbers, so don't expect to find any juicy details.

Canon hawk a super-compact Selphy photo printer
If you ask me, it's a good job the palms of people's hands are generally so compact, otherwise what would manufacturers describe their tiny products as fitting into? "Fits into your small-intestine" just doesn't have the same 'buy me!' ring to it. Canon’s latest PowerShot boasts in-video face recognition
Call me a dumb little plumpty but when I'm taking photos I've never had too much trouble identifying people's faces. By that I don't mean that I necessarily know who they are, but that I at least can differentiate between their face and, say, a pair of slippers. So at first glance I wasn't entirely impressed with Canon's new PowerShot S5 IS, which can boast among its 8-megapixel CCD and 12x optical zoom the so-called "DiG!C III Imaging Processor" handling face detection.

PowerShot TX1 – Digital Camera in Camcoder Form
It’s nice to see some big changes on PowerShot lineup as Canon announces the PowerShot TX1. Its chassis looks more like a mini camcorder rather than a still image camera. A big improvement on TX1 compared to other PowerShot is its video capturing capabilities. The TX1 could capture videos at 30fps with High-Definition 720p in Widescreen format (16:9). Aside from HD video recording, it also support up to 1280 X 720 pixels resolutions and 60fps in mode.
