Sony’s Party-shot automatic camera dock has been doing its thing, impressing the Crave Asia team with its ability to track movement and home in on faces for the perfect photos. Announced last week, along with the new Cyber-shot TX1 and WX1 digital cameras, the Party-shot is a table or tripod-mounted dock which can automatically pan and tilt to locate people.

Nikon has today announced the AF-S DX 35mm F1.8G lens with field of view equivalent to about a 52mm lens on a 35mm sensor size camera. It’s the faster Nikon’s DX-format digital SLR prime lens to date, but hardly ground breaking.
The compact and lightweight Jobo’s PhotoGPS grabs GPS data such as country, city, street and point of interest, whenever your digital camera takes a picture. It unique design fits directly on your camera’s flash mount, and the physical locations of the shots taken are determined later with bundle software. The application used to work for Windows XP and Vista only, but now the company has made it available for Mac users.
In the right hands, a ring-flash can produce some great shots with a DSLR; problem is, that “right hand” also likely needs to have a deep pocket to dip into, as DSLR accessories don’t tend to be cheap. So how about a DIY ring flash, made from fiber-optic toys, a tube of toothpaste and a load of zip ties?
Just in time for President Obama’s presidential inauguration we have spotted the Obaba Buckle DVR (yes it’s spelled “Obaba”), which really is nothing more than a spy cam in a place you wouldn’t normally look. The buckle includes a hidden video cam complete with audio.
