Sony has added a new Handycam camcorder to its lineup that is perfect for summertime action near the water. The new camera is the HDR-GW77V, and it can capture full HD resolution video and 20.4-megapixel still photos indoors and out. The big feature of the camcorder is that it's waterproof to 16-feet and has a three-inch Sony Xtra Fine LCD.
JVC has outed a new ProHD camcorder, the GY-HM600, as well as finally beginning shipments of the much-anticipated GY-HMQ10 4k camcorder, albeit a little later than planned. The GY-HM600 shoots up to Full HD video, unlike its more expensive 4k sibling, with a wide angle 23x autofocus zoom with a particular emphasis on low-light photography (F11 at 2000 lux).

Canon has thrown its EOS C300 Digital Cinema Camera up for pre-order, though you'll need deep pockets if you want to take delivery of the 4k-capable camcorder later this month. Set to ship from January 30, the EOS C300 is priced at $15,999 - a hefty chunk, though lower than Canon's original $20k estimate - with both EF mount and PL mount versions on offer. Meanwhile, a variety of Canon Cine lenses have also been put up for pre-order too.
