Canon EOS C300 Digital Cinema Camera up for $16k pre-order

Canon has thrown its EOS C300 Digital Cinema Camera up for pre-order, though you'll need deep pockets if you want to take delivery of the 4k-capable camcorder later this month. Set to ship from January 30, the EOS C300 is priced at $15,999 - a hefty chunk, though lower than Canon's original $20k estimate - with both EF mount and PL mount versions on offer. JVC has announced its 2012 lineup of Everio camcorders, which offers seven new models that span a wide range of needs from simple point-and-shoots to full manual controls. Four of the new models are now equipped with WiFi, which means that your videos and images can now be shared directly from your camcorder over a WiFi network. JVC has launched the world's first 4K handheld camcorder, the JVC GY-HMQ10, packing a 1/2-inch 8.3-megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording 3840 x 2160 footage at 24p, 50p or 60p. Priced at just under $5k, the GY-HMQ10 can also output 4k footage in real-time, and has an f/2.8 10x zoom lens with optical image stabilizer, as well as a color viewfinder and 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD. I have had a GoPro Motorsports Hero HD camera for a long time now. This tiny camera supports HD resolutions and comes with a suction mount for attaching to a car. It's a very cool little camera, with a very confusing menu system. Each time I want to change resolutions I end up digging for the instructions. I have flown more than one remote controlled flying what not including helicopters and airplanes. The thing they have all had in common was a very short first flight followed by a horrendous crash rendering a chance of a second flight moot. I can only imagine the carnage and repair bill I would wrap up if I had the chance to fly this drone that a German effects firm made for one of those crazy expensive Red Epic cameras. Toshiba's Camileo X200 and X400 camcorders, announced last month, have gone on sale, with a third model - the Camileo X416 - following on come October 10. Priced from $299, the new models each support Full HD 1080p video recording, with the X400 and X416 packing 23x optical zooms and digital image stabilization; the X416 has 16GB of internal storage, and both have SD/SDHC/SDXC card support. JVC's GX-PX1 hybrid camera/camcorder has found itself a US release date and price as the JVC GC-PX10, with the distinctive big-barreled shooter expected to drop later in October for a hefty $899.95. Capable of shooting both 12-megapixel stills and Full HD 1920 x 1080/60p video at up to 36Mbps, as well as super-slow-motion 300fps footage and more, the GC-PX10 is based around JVC's FALCONBRID processor, and can simultaneously capture 8.3-megapixel photos and Full HD video. Kodak outs Playfull Waterproof Video Camera

Kodak has announced a new and small handheld video camera today that is called the Playfull Waterproof Video Camera. As you can gather from the title, the thing will survive water. The camera is water resistant enough to be submerged for underwater recording. Kodak says the camera can survive at up to 10-feet deep. The camera is compact and records to SD/SDHC memory cards. Toshiba may have made the most noise about its new Camileo Clip, X200 and X400 camcorders for IFA 2011, but the company slipped another rare beast into its booth. The Calimeo 3D model packs double the lenses into its palm-friendly chassis, recording Full HD 1920 x 1080 footage and allowing users to preview the 3D effect with a glasses-free autostereoscopic LCD display.

Toshiba has been offering its line of palm-sized camcorders for years now called Camileo. Three new camcorders in the line have been unveiled for the first time. One of the more interesting is the Camileo Clip, which is the camera in the photo below.
