Call of Duty: Ghosts hacking: Infinity Ward brings ban-hammer

For the PC version of Call of Duty: Ghosts, it would appear that Infinity Ward has had enough of the hacking nonsense that's been running rampant for weeks. To make certain the PC crowd understands what they'll be dealing with from this point forward, Infinity Ward has issued an announcement regarding 3rd party software. Any user found playing Call of Duty: Ghosts online with 3rd party software attached - cheating, that is - will be banned permanently.

This puts the release at just around a month after the release of the Xbox One version of the DLC, creating a bit of an early, limited exclusive for the Microsoft-made machine. We've already had an extended look at this DLC for you to get an idea of what you're getting into in the near future.

Call of Duty: Ghosts: Onslaught Review

Call of Duty: Ghosts: Onslaught Review

There's one whole heck of a lot of disagreement this season on how Call of Duty: Ghosts aught to be reviewed. While we didn't find it all that terrible, quite a few gamers out there disagreed with our assessment - heavily. Because of this - and because the cry against our review was so radically one-sided, we decided to take another look at the game, playing now for weeks on end to get in as deep as possible to see things from every gamer's perspective - and now comes along Onslaught, complete with a new weapon, four new maps, and none other than one of the most menacing horror movie villains of all time: Michael Myers.

Michael Myers hits COD: Ghosts Onslaught with a sign from the future

If the devil is in the details, then Infinity Ward has summoned more than their fair share of demons in the creation of the Fog map for the first DLC for the game Call of Duty: Ghosts. This expansion goes by the name Onslaught, and in the gameplay map called "Fog", players are invited to dip into an environment that's the video game embodiment the 2012 film The Cabin in the Woods. Not that it looks the same - it quite different visually - but the same idea is there: here we've got every woods-based horror movie all bound into one.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Review

With a Call of Duty game coming out at least once a year for what seems like forever, it’s not easy always seeing the newest title for what it’s worth, especially when it comes to multiplayer. With Call of Duty: Ghosts, you’ve got the first title from this series to be released to the next-generation consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Because of this, we’re able to take on a new era regardless of the changes Infinity Ward has made - but is it enough?

Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC gameplay expands in “CODnapped”

While we're so close to the release of the Xbox One-first release of the Call of Duty: Ghosts expansion "Onslaught" we can taste it, there's a bit more work the company behind promotion the release has to do before we get there. The most recent release here comes in the form of a 1080p video that likely cost one whole heck of a lot of cash to produce. Working with real-deal live-action effects and your favorite British name-face Stephen Graham - from Gangs of New York, Snatch, and a whole lot of other films - you'll find this video spot taking that one extra step toward reality.

Call of Duty and Skylanders keep Activision in NPD’s top spots for 2013

There's a couple of games appearing in NPD's tracking of video games for the end of 2013 that put Activision in a rather healthy spot for entering in this year's full range of releases. With Call of Duty: Ghosts, Activision sees the #1 Top-Selling Next Gen Title through 2013 - that's both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while it remains the best-selling title overall in December as well. Meanwhile Skylanders - as a video game franchise - won best-selling of the entire year for the kids video games category.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught DLC gameplay: aliens and Michael Meyers

In the first of four Call of Duty: Ghosts DLC packs from the folks at Infinity Ward have ushered in this season, oddities are being distributed in heavy abundance. You'll be rolling up on Onslaught with a couple of species of beastly aliens with a couple of new weapons (or a two in one, if you prefer) and will be attacking opponents in a brand new way to play - as your favorite horror movie face Michael Meyers. It's just about as far away from Halloween as you can get with this release date in play, but we're certainly pumped to get in the holiday spirit.
