As expected, Nintendo confirmed today that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be coming to Wii U. Gameplay obviously won't be too much different from its Xbox 360, PS3, and PC counterparts, but there are some features exclusive to the Wii U that helps this particular version standout from the crowd. Activision's Eric Hirshberg ran through these features during Nintendo's event today, with one of the most notable being that the game can be played on the Wii U GamePad's screen.

Black Ops II reportedly in the works for Wii U

It would seem that Call of Duty: Black Ops II will be getting a release on Wii U, if the LinkedIn profile of one QA tester from Activision is to be believed. Uncovered by IGN, this profile belongs to someone named Randall (though details on the account have been changed since the discovery), and claims that he performed "QA testing on PS3 and Wii U" while working at Treyarch. His profile also said that he did multiplayer testing while working with the team, along with "ad hoc testing, and regression."

Pachter: Activision forced Nintendo to create Wii U Pro Controller

Right before E3 2012 kicked off, Nintendo revealed the Pro Controller for the Wii U, something which a lot of gamers (including myself) were happy to see. According to Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter, the Wii U's Pro Controller might might not exist today were it not for the insistence of Activision, which said it would not be putting Call of Duty games on the Wii U if Nintendo didn't give developers a more traditional controller to work with. Thus, the Wii U Pro Controller was born, or at least that's the way the story goes when Michael Pachter tells it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II theme song composed by Trent Reznor

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is probably going to be the biggest game of the year, so it's only appropriate that Activision finds some big names to attach to the game's development. One of these big names is Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor, who has composed the theme song for the highly-anticipated military shooter. Apparently, the tune is an "aggressively sounding" rock arrangement, which should fit well with Black Ops II's gritty gameplay and style.
