TWC put out SDV order information for subscribers in San Antonia, Albany and Austin

After Comcast rolling out SDV tuning adapter at selected areas, Time Warner Cable has put out SDV information and preorder page on their web site. TWC subscribers in San Antonia, Albany and Austin in need of two way dongle for their CableCard-enabled Tivo devices; can now order a free tuning adapter now at the following links. Fortunate for North Dallas residents, we are going full digital without the needs of switched digital video! Lets us know about your experiences with SDV.

CableCards approved Panasonic, tru2way HDTVs coming for holiday

Panasonic tru2wayHave you ever been lied to and ignored by cable service provider when asked to gather CableCARD installation on your HTDV or Set-Top box? They sure have interesting ways and unheard of excuses to avoid the topic. If you are new to CableCARD and insist of its service, they’ll probably throw you the technicality or excuse of system incompatibility, and then push the company’s HDTV tuner instead. What they hardly explain to customers is the current CableCards’ inabilities only miss the costly and no good subscription of VOD premium movie services. You are more than fine unless you live in a few unfortunate cities that employing SDV on HD channels. All these hassles with CardCARDS will soon to change with tru2Way.

Cannon PC demo six CableCARD recording on Media Center PC

Bad news if you’re the sort of person who starts feeling guilty at having recorded dozens of shows but not actually watched any of them: Cannon PC have just released a demo video of their latest Windows Media Center mod, simultaneously recording six high-definition programs via six separate CableCARDs.  If you’re not familiar with Media Center, you might not see why that’s special; not only does the OS only natively support two CableCARDs, but usually gobbling up all that HD footage would quickly gobble up all your CPU cycles.
