Boxee is on a roll this week, with Tuesday's iPad app launch followed by the addition of Grooveshark streaming music support today. Functioning in a similar manner to Spotify, last.fm and others, Grooveshark has a catalog of tracks to choose from, and which can now be browsed and queued up via the Boxee interface. Boxee has released Boxee for iPad, allowing users to begin watching content on their Apple tablet then transfer playback to their HTPC Boxee Box midway through, optionally controlling the whole thing from an iPhone-based remote app. The free iPad app [iTunes link] is accompanied by the new Boxee Media Manager, which can be used to stream video to the tablet from your PC or Mac; Boxee Box owners, meanwhile, can stream content in the other direction. Boxee raises $16.5m funding: More content & tablet support promised

Boxee has closed a new round of funding, raising a further $16.5m in investment which the company says it will spend on adding content to the streaming media platform, increasing the number of hardware partners producing standalone Boxee Boxes, and developing the system to take on more of the established A/V ecosystem.
