Borderlands 2 Mechromancer DLC release date outed by Gearbox

The release of the highly-anticipated Borderlands 2 is just two short weeks away, and it won't be long after that September 18 release that the game gets its first DLC. We've known for a while that this DLC will add a new class - the Mechromancer - but what we didn't know is when it will launch. This weekend at PAX Prime, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford finally gave an actual date, saying that the pack will be available "by October 16." Read The Full Story

Today Samsung used the MERL touchscreen table to show that Apple doesn't have much of a claim, before resting its case and asking the Judge to award it $421.8 million in the suit. Later in the day, we caught word that Judge Lucy Koh had asked Apple's counsel if they were smoking crack when they presented an extremely long document filled with witnesses they wanted to call for rebuttals. Take-Two Q1 financial results ‘below expectations’

With company after company issuing excellent quarterly financial reports lately, it was only a matter of time before one of them reported less-than-stellar results. That company is Take-Two, which today reported GAAP losses of $110.8 million, ballooning from the reported loss of $8.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net revenue took a dive too, falling from Q1 2012's $334.4 million to $226.1 million for the period ended June 30. Read The Full Story

Borderlands 2 officially finished, now on the way to certification

Gearbox gave all of the Borderlands fans out there something to get excited about today: it announced that work on Borderlands 2 has officially wrapped up. The studio is getting ready to send the game out for certification, which means that all of the on-disc content has been finished and can no longer be changed. Now that the studio has essentially put the base game behind it, Gearbox says that it will begin work on post-launch content. Read The Full Story
