One of the best things that a company can do to make customers happy is to add new features to the products that we own via firmware updates. To really make us happy those firmware updates should be free. BlueAnt has made us really happy with a new firmware update for its slick Q1 Bluetooth headset.

CTIA Wireless has come and gone for another year, and while many people are complaining about the general lack of new products, there were still interesting devices and services that we got to see demoed and get our hands on. We’re going to list off our favorites from the week, and hope the delay in getting this list up doesn’t bother you too much; we had to really think hard before we decided.

CTIA was last week, and the SlashGear team brought you lots of great coverage from the event. While new devices were scarce, we got a closer look at some impressive phones and products from some of our favorite companies. We’ll bring you up to speed on CTIA and other important news just in case you missed it.

We took a look at the MSI X-Slim X340 and compared it to the iPhone 3G and Lenovo ThinkPad X301 in terms of size. The MSI X-Slim X340 is an attractive laptop, and the planned sub $1000 price tag makes it even more so.

BlueAnt’s forthcoming product is the Q1 Bluetooth headset. This sleek headset features some amazing noise reduction technology and voice isolation. The most innovative feature of the BlueAnt Q1 is the voice control feature. The user can talk to the headset and tell it what needs to be done. For instance, if the user would like a tutorial of using the Q1, the user says “show me” and the Q1 will walk the user through the features. To pair the device, the user simply says “pair me.” The Q1 will even tell you your phone and headset battery life with the command “check battery” There are numerous other commands as well.

The biggest news this week has been coming out of IFA 2008, with SlashGear’s roving reporter there, Milena Glimbovski, sending back all the details of the hottest new hardware.  The netbook train shows no sign of slowing, with LG’s X110 and Fujitsu’s AMILO Mini Ui 3620 finally stepping out of the shadows and getting full announcements.  There’s too much good stuff to mention it all individually, so check out the IFA 2008 tag for SlashGear’s full coverage.
