There is some bad news surfacing today about the anticipated game Diablo III from Blizzard. Blizzards is making fundamental changes to the way the game will be played and how items in the game are purchased and traded. One of the changes being made to the new title is that no mods will be allowed. That means none of the custom games that we generally see with titles like Diablo III.

Blizzard MMO Not Likely for Xbox 360

Blizzard MMO Not Likely for Xbox 360

Blizzard is a company known for their Massively Multiplayer Online titles, with a major focus on World of Warcraft. Of course, a title like StarCraft can't be ignored, either, even if it doesn't fit into the MMO category. In any event, it doesn't look like Microsoft's Xbox 360 has much of a chance of landing an MMO of Blizzard caliber any time soon, as the company not only knows of the hardships that Microsoft puts forth to developers for access to Xbox LIVE, but they also believe that the Xbox 360 just doesn't have the power to make it happen.

The Daily Slash: October 25th 2010

We're getting dangerously close to that ever-so-spooky howliday, and the gadgets just aren't reflecting it at all! I suppose that's how it goes though, it's only one day, no use in making a pumpkin themed telephone for that. In honor of the most smashing of days coming up though, I did carve a pumpkin for you. It's also in celebration of me finally downloading what I now realize is the greatest tiny game ever made. See if you can tell what it is. I carved it for you. Blizzcon attendees were given some undeniably exciting news: from amongst them, 1,000 would be chosen to receive Beta Keys to Diablo 3. Those of you like me who've been waiting to hear that news for years and years (and years,) oh my goodness the excitement burns in the heart. Diablo 2 was (and yes, still is) played by thousands, being one of the games to pave the way for such games as World of Warcraft, a game that's estimated to hold over 60% of the market share for MMORPG games in the world.

Blizzard Shows StarCraft 2 Has Some Old Rivals

News about Blizzard's StarCraft II isn't necessarily few and far between, but when you start talking about something as epic as StarCraft, and its heavily anticipated sequel, every piece of information is fantastic. And, if it weren't enough for Blizzard to just give us text-based information, they go out and make amazing CG videos, like the cinematic trailer already released. But this time around, Blizzard lets us follow an old friend, Zeratul, as he explores some ancient ruins, but quickly discovers he's not the only one being a little nostalgic.

Diablo 3 coming to consoles?

Diablo 3 coming to consoles?

Blizzard president, Mike Morhaime may have just stoked the fire about their upcoming game, Diablo 3. While it was expected this game would only appear on PCs, we're now hearing buzz it might be released on consoles as well.

Recently at BlizzCon, Morhaime spoke about the game and how each game at Blizzard includes a discussion of appropriate platforms. He said, "As Diablo 3 takes shape, I think we'll do an evaluation. I think there is a pretty good argument to be made that that type of game might work very well on consoles. There might be some technical limitations though that we might need to get past."
