Pebble smartwatch hits Black Friday with Amazon and own-page cuts

There's nothing like a good push on the biggest shopping day of the year, especially when you've got a device that's just about the size of your traditional stocking for stuffing. That's what's up with Pebble this weekend when they reveal that they've released the device to Amazon as well as on their own site with special cut just for this weekend. This device is also getting ramped up for a bit of a rebirth as their version 2.0 software brews in beta, mind you, with developers chomping at the bit.

Starting well across the ocean this week the folks at Apple have begun teasing their Black Friday listings with simplicity. An Australian teaser page has appeared for what Apple calls their "one-day Apple shopping event" that just so happens to fall the day after Thanksgiving. This day is traditionally called "Black Friday" due to the massive amount of store sales across the United States - and abroad, now, as it were.

Xbox 360 sales rocket to 750,000 in US for week of Black Friday

Black Friday and the days leading up to it were undoubtedly good for a lot of companies, but Microsoft had a pretty good week itself. The company announced today that it sold 750,000 Xbox 360s in the US during the week of Black Friday, which is technically counted as November 18-23. Selling nearly 1 million consoles in just six days is definitely impressive, especially when that console is six years old and will likely be replaced by new hardware soon.

According to research firm comScore, Black Friday shopping online surged past $1 billion for the first time ever. A huge uptick in online shopping would seem to indicate that the economy in the US might finally be coming back.
