If you’re a fan of the iPhone OS 4.0 right now, and you’ve tied to the developer program for Apple’s mobile devices, then you can go ahead and have your say with the new mobile Operating System. iPhone OS 4.0 SDK is available right now for developers. This is the first of the Betas, so be sure to keep that in mind. And, as always, Apple suggests that you don’t put this on your own, personal device, and keep it on your testing devices, because it is Beta, and bugs do happen.
According to Microsoft's Partner Program website, we'll see Windows 7 RC drop on May 5th for the public. There were reports that MSDN subscribers were able to download the new Windows 7 version, but it turns out to have been a slip up on Microsoft's part by posting a page early.

Sling have set a release date for the SlingPlayer Mobile software for BlackBerry smartphones, first announced at the beginning of 2008. The software, which allows you to watch streamed video from your SlingBox over a WiFi or 3G connection, will go into public beta come December 30th, at which point it will be available to download for those with BlackBerry handsets running OS 4.5.

As we suspected, Mozilla announced the availability of the new Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 this afternoon. This version is available on Mozilla’s Beta download page in 55 different languages. The 3.1 Beta 2 exceeds any previous expectations that we had as far as added features.

While there was initial speculation that a public beta was a ways off yet, it seems Microsoft will be cranking out the first public beta of Windows 7 sometime after the first of the year, as just confirmed by Keith Combs of Technet.
Those who attend the Microsoft Developer's Conference starting on January 13th should gain access to DVDs with the new Windows 7 beta on it. Those who attend these events in Chicago and Minneapolis will most likely be the first to receive copies.
Even though dubbed as a "first beta," it now seems Microsoft has accelerated their Windows 7 roll out schedule, giving them plenty of time to introduce further tests throughout 2009 and perhaps even offer an official release sometime next year, rather than in 2010.

The latest update to the iPhone’s firmware beta has become available and our own Vincent Nguyen has gotten his hands on it. The build number is 5A240d, Vincent has been running the second version of the beta for a couple of weeks and he said he immediately noticed a major improvement in system stability after upgrading to this latest firmware.
New enhancements include being able to save images from safari as well as the ability to search your contacts. They also apparently fixed a lot of the bugs that were found in the second beta release.
There are also some other new features included such as more settings for your calendar and a lot of new mail settings. Vincent is apparently also toying around with PWNAGE with the iPhone Dev Team reporting that these days cracking the latest firmware is as simple as doing “a simple byte search”. So, it’s nice to see things moving along in both the official and unofficial iPhone development worlds.
