Best Buy stores getting four Palm Pre on June 6th, RadioShack two?

palm pre best buy Sprint CEO Dan Hesse was accused by many of attempting to stoke demand when he warned that stock of the Palm Pre on launch day might be limited, but news coming out of Best Buy and RadioShack suggests there could be many disappointed people on June 6th. According to an insider at Best Buy, the approximately 1,000 stores taking part in the Pre launch will have roughly 4,250 handsets to share between them, averaging out at just four units per location.

Meanwhile, a separate RadioShack tipster has confirmed that 721 of the company’s stores will be selling the Pre on June 6th, “limited to high coastal areas like New York, New Jersey, California, Miami, Texas, etc.” While specific stock figures are unknown, he estimated just two Pre devices per RadioShack.

Samsung NC20 official product page goes live

Samsung’s NC20 VIA-based netbook may have been on retailers’ shelves since last week, but the company has only just got around to publishing their official product page for the netbook. No new details have been revealed, aside from the official runtime estimate of “up to 6hrs” from the standard 6-cell battery.

Samsung Blu-ray player BD-P 3600 show up in store

Back in CES 2009, Samsung threw a mix of wall-mountable 1.5-inch thin and a low-profile tabletop Blu-ray desks with more substances than the unique design. In additional to the BD-Live, Dobly TrueHD, DTS-HD MA internal recorder; it also comes equipped with WIFI dongle, and is networked to feature Netflix and Pandora streaming services. Price and availability were scant at that time. Today, one of them, the P3600 is showing up at Best-buy B&M store according to comment left from an allegedly Best-buy employee at Engadget.

Palm Pre to be Best Buy exclusive?

Latest Palm Pre rumor is that Best Buy Mobile will have an exclusivity deal with Sprint for the smartphone. The deal, believed to last for 60 days, would mean that the new handset would only be available from Best Buy or the carrier themselves, while the rumor is attributed to an unnamed “credible source”.

Samsung Instinct shows up on Best Buy website costing a pretty penny

pink instinct best buy1 240x480 We recently saw leaked photos of Best Buy’s inventory sheets showing that the Instinct was in fact coming to store shelves early next year in pink. Best Buy’s website has now listed it as “Coming Soon,” confirming that these rumors were in fact true.

What we didn’t know was that this older touchscreen handset was going to cost you a pretty penny. Never would we guess that is would be selling for $599.99. I guess women who have to have this phone are willing to shell out whatever it takes to have the finer things in life.

We are surprised to see the toned down soft pink color that Samsung decided to go with. Honestly we imagined seeing a bright pink obnoxious device that would embarrass anyone within 15 feet of the thing. If Samsung kept it up with other more neutral colors we can definitely see them selling pretty well. Pink was such a bold color to go with, as it does not appeal to the entire market.

You know it’s hot when the device are selling at Ebay for as much as 20-percent more than its asking value. If you’ve just discovered the 5D Mark II Digital SLR with one-of-its-kind full HD 1080P video feature, and you got to have it for the Christmas; try calling around local Best Buy electronic chain stores, or using the their online tool to check for store availability.

Most online and B&M camera stores are shut off with pages-long waiting list on the 5D sequel, two of my shooting buddies actually turned to Best Buy and got theirs last weekend. To sweeten the deal, Best Buy is running a five percent discount on the 5D mark II right now; no debate scheme, no cut-out coupon but an instant discount of $135 worth. Good enough to counter the sale tax at some States, yes?

Best Buy cut iPhone 3G price: 8GB for $190, 16GB for $290

Walmart may be getting all the coverage when it comes to the iPhone 3G lately, but Best Buy don’t want you to forget that they’ve been selling the Apple smartphone for some time now. Just to hammer that point home, the retailer is cutting the price of both 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G handsets by $10, in an offer valid until the end of the year.

Best Buy offers buyouts after 3Q plunge

Best Buy just announced that their third quarter profits are down 77 percent over all. They also announced plants to cut capital expenditures and yes staff members. With the economy in a bind like this it is just too much for electronic big box stores like this to hold on. Lets cross our fingers and hope Best Buy does not follow in the steps of Circuit City.

Best Buy are readying a Sony PS3 bundle that sees the 80GB version of the console joined by a copy of Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, as well as Casino Royale on Blu-Ray. Set to launch on November 28th, the bundle will be priced at $400.

MacBook & MacBook Pro $100 discount at Best Buy

Best Buy have begun selling MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops with $100 discounts from the list-price. The deal is not limited to the older plastic MacBook, but the new late-2008 unibody aluminum version and its more powerful Pro sibling. According to some sources, Apple stores will be matching the Best Buy pricing “for the next few days”.
