It lost CEO Brian Dunn this year and it has been closing stores in an effort to shore up operations and return the profits it once enjoyed. In what's quickly becoming one of the most hotly anticipated smartphones on its carrier of choice, the HTC EVO 4G LTE's release situation has just turned back to positive with a May 24th ship date on the books. The HTC EVO 4G LTE was recently the subject of an investigation / check sort of event at the US border while HTC's shipment (which also included HTC One X) units were held up on account of their supposed patent-infringing software. Since we first heard that news, HTC's newest relative of the HTC One series has been cleared - or is about to be cleared, at least, as its carrier suggests the late May shipping date as a reality for pre-order customers. It appears that once again the HTC EVO 4G LTE has hit a wall when it comes to being delivered to the USA for sale, so says customers receiving the note that their pre-orders were once again stopped here at the end of the week. In the epic battle that has become HTC's this summer in bringing their new line of hero smartphones into the USA, the HTC EVO 4G LTE has once again suffered a bit of a loss as Best Buy takes back what it'd reported earlier this week with a new announcement of delay. Though the press already does have its hands on review units of this device, it seems that that's as far as HTC was allowed to go with getting said hardware into the states before patent infringement via Apple reared its head. Best Buy may have jumped the gun a little in throwing up a release date for the HTC EVO 4G LTE. The company has now sent out emails to customers saying that the phone has been delayed, with no new date given so far. It comes after it was revealed that the HTC One X and EVO 4G LTE face a customs block, preventing the phones from being sold in the United States until they’ve been cleared of patent infringement. The giant list of 50 closures has been brewing now for many weeks, with the final 42 closures being listed by Best Buy this week. Included in these are one location in Kansas City Missouri, another in Scottsdale Arizona, and a whopping five in Best Buy's home state of Minnesota - each of them in the Twin Cities.
