Cricket Communications has been launching and announcing many new devices over the last few months that work with its pay as you go mobile service and mobile broadband offerings. The big thing that I keep wondering about each time I see new products from the company is where you buy them locally.

Rumors of Nintendo dropping the Wii's price have circulated for months now, and it seems someone in Japan has finally seen sense.  According to a leaked email to Best Buy staff, as of September 27th the Nintendo Wii will be dropped from $249.99 to $199.99.

If you didn’t catch our “review of the Hero“, we think you should. Especially if you’re on the Sprint Network, here in the States. Why? Because those rumors of a Hero gracing the Now Network seem to be getting more solid every day, and if a recent leaked image of Best Buy’s internal systems has anything to say about it, then September is set to be a little bit more cramped.

So, we’ll admit that that title may be a bit misleading. Why? Because it looks like people aren’t having to look that hard at all to find a few random (or perhaps not too random) pieces of Sony’s new hardware floating around in retail stores. Did you happen to make it into a select few Best Buy stores over the weekend? If so, did you get a chance to stare at/touch/play with a Zune HD? We certainly hope so. But! If you didn’t get that great of an opportunity, then it looks like a video might just have to cut it for now. And why is this video so amazing, other than giving you another look at the sexy piece of gadgetry? It shows off the Marketplace on the device, and then right there, smack-dab in the middle: Apps.

Sony announced today a joint-venture with mega-retailer Best Buy, showcasing a new line of streaming audio products, affectionately called “Altus.” There’s four products being released out of the gate, and Best Buy is getting the first crack at them. Of course, this makes sense considering Best Buy lended a helping hand in their development. There’s quite a bit to go on, so we’ll just get right down to it.

One of the big problems with adding more displays to some computers is that many desktop computers and all notebooks only have one video output. That means that the desktop user would often need another video card. Not so long ago that meant cracking open the computer and installing a new internal video card.
