During the Super Bowl, Best Buy featured a commercial with teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber, and heavy metal legend, Ozzy Osborne, to launch their new “Buy Back” program. The program is pretty much what it sounds like--Best Buy stores will buy back products from their customers. The catch is that there's a cost to it almost like when you pay extra for that 3-year warranty. However, the program is free right now but will cost you after February 12th and the amount depends on the type of device.
Early this morning we reported that low inventory levels pointed towards a MacBook Pro refresh. The announcement was tipped as coming on February 9. Now a Best Buy inventory screenshot has seemingly confirmed the imminent MacBook Pro update. The in-stock date is given as March 11, which is when we can expect these babies to launch.
The first time we saw Steve Jobs pull the iPhone 4 out of his pocket we were supposed to be able to get the smartphone in black or white colors just as we have for a while now with the iPhone 3GS. As it turned out the process used to paint the iPhone 4 white had some issues and we still don’t have the smartphone in white (at least not officially) today.
Honeycomb was shaping up so well. CES 2011 saw several new slates debut and look to offer solid competition to the iPad, and then Google's Android 2.3 launch event last week left us even more confident in the tablet-centric build. Could Motorola and Verizon bring the whole party crashing down with silly pricing for the Motorola XOOM however? With a leaked Best Buy advert tipping a sales price of $799.99, that may well be the case.
If your geeky little heart is all aflutter at the thought of finally getting the iPhone 4 in the Verizon network you aren't alone. We posted up our review of the new smartphone yesterday. Verizon and Apple are taking early pre-orders for the device, but most of the unwashed masses will need to wait until the week after those early orders go in to get the new iPhone 4 on Verizon.
The Super Bowl is this weekend marking the only game of the year that a lot of folks will watch and the only time of the year when we actually want to see commercials. If you are rocking an old and small TV set, that just won't cut it for the big game. It's not too late to upgrade though and Best Buy has some really good deals on Samsung gear for the game.
A leaked document from an internal Best Buy training manual may put the national retailer in some hot water, if it turns out to be true in any capacity. According to GearLive, who managed to get a snapshot of the internal document, it looks like Best Buy will be not only shying away from the Verizon iPhone 4, but going as far as to not recommend it to would-be customers.
Best Buy's in the hot seat again, it seems. According to a new, leaked image from the electronics retailer, it looks like AT&T is getting ready to switch some things around. Namely, messaging is getting a boost. While two previous plans are getting dropped, the wireless carrier is offering up more text messages for less money. That is, if this screen shot turns out to be true, of course.
