Mine and my friends’ taste in music differs a lot. I don’t even know 5 people who’d enjoy my particular preferences, so the RockStar hub isn’t for me. It is a great thing though and I’m sure some people will eat it up.

Belkin 2 in 1 HDMI switcher

Belkin has the HDMI 2-in-1 switcher online for $49.99 in USA and Canada. Release date is set for Asia, Europe and Australia in March 2008. It supported 480i/p,1080i/p, 720p, HDCP compliant and come with a Remote control. No, it’s much of a news for a 2 in 1 hdmi switcher, I need at least 6 in my system. But what caught my attention is the ‘bus-powered’ feature claimed by Belkin with HDMI cable connected to your HDTV. Now, that’s cool. Having a remote control also means that you can use your universal remote to learn the code. Now you can have one remote for your whole system for switching varies sources if desired.

Ad-hoc networking two computers together has undoubtedly gotten easier since I tried – and failed – to use a serial cable to do it many years ago, but anything that makes it foolproof has to be appreciated.  Belkin’s latest range of Wireless USB accessories might just manage that; while their range so far has concentrated on removing the cable between PC and peripherals thanks to a WUSB hub, these dongles should be a plug & play way to quickly link two computers.
