NOOK Color Adds New Exclusive Game: Aces Bubble Popper

The Barnes & Noble NOOK Color eReader is really setting itself apart from the competition. Earlier this week, the eReader got a firmware update that brought new features including NOOK Email and apps. The ability to download apps is perhaps the niftiest part and included several games for the eReader. New games will likely be piled on quickly, and today's latest release is the Aces Bubble Popper from Concrete Software, who also released Aces Jewel Hunt and Pocket Ants for the device. In a move that's aimed directly at Fathers and Mothers days, Staples will soon be picking up the NOOK Color in both its physical locations and online office supplies store. This is an oddity of an announcement if you consider the push Barnes & Noble has made to make sure everyone knows that this device is made for their books, their magazines, and their children's books. Microsoft Sues Barnes & Noble Over Android Device Patent Infringement

Microsoft filed a lawsuit today suing Barnes & Noble and its two contract manufacturers Foxconn and Inventec for patent infringement involving the Nook e-reader. B&N settles in Spring Design ereader legal spat

Spring Design may be voluntarily "phasing out" the Alex ereader but its taken a settlement offer from Barnes & Noble to end the ongoing lawsuit between the two firms. According to a B&N press release, "Spring Design will grant Barnes & Noble a non-exclusive, paid-up royalty free license for the entire portfolio of Spring Design patents and patent applications."
