Panasonic Japan have announced a pair of new plasma HDTVs, the 65-inch TH-P65V1 and the 58-inch TH-P58V1. Each features Panasonic’s latest neoPDP panel technology with a contrast ratio of 40,000:1, together with the usual VIERACast streaming media and internet widgets.
AVC has revealed a brand new Internet home surveillance system today called LiveLine IP, which just hit beta today. This new system makes it easy to keep track of your home, no matter where you are.
Canon Japan have unveiled two new camcorders, each recording AVCHD footage at up to 24Mbps Full HD. The Canon iVIS HF21 and iVIS HF S11 have 64GB of onboard storage each, plus an SDHC card slot, and can record just under six hours of 24Mbps 1920 x 1080 footage to their internal memory. They also use Canon’s DIGIC DV III Video processor.
Sony have announced a new ultra-compact camcorder, capable of not only capturing Full-HD 1080p AVCHD video but geo-tagging it via its integrated GPS receiver. The Sony HDR-TG5V has the same upright styling as the TG1/TG3E, but packs 16GB of built-in storage, Navteq mapping data and a smaller, lighter chassis.
JVC have announced their latest full-HD camcorder, the JVC Everio GX-X900, which is capable of recording 1080p video and shooting 9-megapixel still images. Measuring just 2.6 x 4.88 x 1.46 inches and weighing 0.66lbs, the Everio X can take 5-megapixel stills (at up to 1/4000 shutter speeds) while recording full-HD video, as well as offering 600fps slow-motion video recording.
In preparing for the PMA 2009, Panasonic has launched a series of new digital compact cameras, two out of the new Lumix, the DCM-TZ-ZS3 and DCM-TS1 are the first of its class to feature the new AVCHD Lite HD Video Recording Capabilities of MPEG-4 / H.264 AVC video compression standard.
