This cute little iPod shelf would be great for high school and college students alike, especially ones that need to utilize wall space. Instead of using up precious desk space, snag one of these that will not only hold up your books but play your tunes as well.

There are many people out there who own both an iPhone and an iPod. JVC is trying to bank on the idea of satisfying these consumers by unveiling its latest speaker docks for both iPhone and iPod. The JVC NX-PN7 features two docks for both devices to sit on the docking speaker system.

Let’s get the first hurdle out of the way: SE2 Labs‘ ITC One home entertainment system costs $25,000. Assuming you’ve got that to spend, though, what do you get for your money? How about an XBox 360, Wii, Apple TV, iPod dock and DVR, together with “audiophile grade” mods and power conditioning, all in a single standalone case. Gizmodo spent a little hands-on time with the ITC One, and just as you might imagine came away wondering exactly who it’s aimed at.
Onkyo are set to release a new home entertainment system that seems to be aimed at people unsure whether they want extra wires and rear speakers. The GKW-2.1HD consists of two 30W front stereo speakers, a 60W subwoofer and control unit, and a remote. Out of the box it supports 2.1HD audio, but add a few extra speakers and you’ll have a full 5.1-channel surround sound setup.

Sleek Audio, an audio equipment manufacturer who are so convinced by their SA6 in-ear monitor headphones that they don’t actually make anything else, have announced that they will be the next company to use Kleer’s wireless audio technology. Kleer’s system, ostensibly a rival to Bluetooth A2DP, is special because of its ability to carry CD-quality audio despite ultra low power consumption. The new Sleek implementation will also support Kleer’s Listen In technology, which allows up to four users to hear the same source from a single transmitter.

If you’re serious about home entertainment then you’ve likely heard of Classe, the high-end audio and video specialists. If you’ve a spare $8k and a desire to upgrade your preamp/processor, then their SSP-800 might tick all your luxury boxes; slotting into the company’s Delta range, it has ten channels with upgradeable DSP and a video signal path that can support 36-bit Deep Color Video (Blu-ray is a mere 24-bit). There’s also a slick touchscreen control panel on the front.

The Magnavox and Sylvania branded Funai NB500 Blu-ray player were spotted at Walmart. The NB500 is Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player and it is price quite low at $298. It sports HDMI version 1.3, HD audio codec’s, and DVD upscaling. These units are obviously low end BD players and somehow outdated, but again the price point might lure some potential buyers.

After coming across this CD player my initial thought was that they really need to give it up on the CD players. I may still buy the occasional CD but I just do it to download it onto my iPod. However, the fact that the design itself is so interesting, is enough to make me appreciate it even if its is a dying technology.

Hi-fi specialists Naim have released their latest assault on the wallets of audiophiles, with the HDX music jukebox attempting to persuade them that ripping CDs isn’t the work of the devil. Of course, since this is Naim we’re talking about, what they’re actually suggesting is about as far away from MP3 as you can get while still residing on a hard-drive platter. The HDX creates uncompressed WAV files from a double-reading of each CD, ensuring an identical, bit-for-bit copy. The primary 400GB hard-drive can store around 500 CDs in this manner, cataloguing them automatically.
