Audi A0 monocycle looks like a painful accident waiting to happen

Audi has been making luxury and sports cars for a long time. The latest mode of transport to be unveiled by Audi isn't a car, it’s an electric unicycle or monocycle in Audi speak. The device is called the A0 and was designed by German and Mexican students. The A0 is sort of like a combination of a unicycle and a Segway. It reminds me of the time when I was young that my cousin did a face plant on the road trying to ride a normal unicycle.

With what must be a strong candidate for the longest press release of 2009, Audi have launched their new flagship, the Audi A8.  Since we usually save our interest in cars for only the most outlandishly technical or geekily endearing, the new A8 earns its place by bolstering its multimedia interface (MMI) with handwriting recognition, an optional 1,400W Bang & Olufsen audio system, twin 10.2-inch displays for the rear-seat passengers, and a 20GB hard-drive for digital media.

Audi e-tron electric R8 packs monster torque

The e-tron may sound like a 60s robot from a bad sci-fi film, but in actual fact it's a hand-built electric concept car from Audi.  Based on their R8 supercar, the Audi e-tron packs not one but four 230kW (313bhp) electric motors, one for each wheel, for a total of 3319lb/ft of torque, 0-60mph times of 4.8s and a (limited) top speed of 125mph, without killing any rhinos, pandas or polar bears in the process (unless they jump out into the road).
