Audi A6, A7 get a fresh new look, inside and out

Audi A6, A7 get a fresh new look, inside and out

Why change a winning formula? That is perhaps the reasoning behind Audi's decision to keep its Audi A6 and Audi A7 sedans mostly intact. Mostly. Acknowledging that it still needs to be attractive to buyers tempted to look at competitors' shiny new offerings, Audi has given the A6 and A7 a slightly makeover, both externally and internally, that, especially for the A6 and A6 Avant, give the cars a bolder, sharper visage. Best of all, Audi has kept the best things about the A6 and A7, including the same starting price.

Volkswagen will buy back most Dieselgate cars in US

Volkswagen will buy back most Dieselgate cars in US

Volkswagen will offer to buy back every diesel car in the US that cheated emissions standards, a vast and expensive undertaking covering nearly half a million vehicles. The decision is part of a settlement in principle with the US Department of Justice (DoJ), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and California Air Resources Board (CARB), announced today, as part of the German automaker's grand "Dieselgate" mea-culpa for fitting several of its models with cunning bypass devices that helped fake the results during government testing.

Audi might have a mid-engined, Porsche Boxster-based R6

Audi might have a mid-engined, Porsche Boxster-based R6

It isn't just smartphone manufacturers who are putting out mid-range products to fill in gaps in their portfolio. Now Audi is rumored to do the same with a yet to be confirmed Audi R6. This mid-engined vehicle, said to come in both coupe and convertible models, will be sitting comfortably between the smaller, two-door Audi TT and the monster that is the Audi R8. Curiously, the Audi R8 is said to use a platform that is similar, though modified, to the one in the Porsche Boxster and Cayman.

Captain America Civil War movie footage released in an Audi Ad

This afternoon the Audi SQ7 has been shown rolling comfortably in the middle of a scene of the blockbuster film Captain America: Civil War. This footage includes part ad/part movie bits and pieces, flawlessly intertwining the two to the point where you'll question which is which. The video shows Captain America - Steve Rogers himself - running after his best buddy Bucky - otherwise known as The Winter Soldier. Also in the chase is a character new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Black Panther.

My Days of Thunder with the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus

My Days of Thunder with the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus

Tom Cruise in Days of Thunder left a long-lasting impression. That was 1990 when I was a young lad of 14. Fast forward to the present day and I survived my own day of thunder at the Daytona International Speedway, driving the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus at ridiculous speeds and – through a combination of car and maybe luck - living to tell the tale.

How Audi’s 2017 R8 Spyder pairs soft top with hard performance

How Audi’s 2017 R8 Spyder pairs soft top with hard performance

When you're making the droptop version of your track-destroying supercar, do you tone things down for the open air crowd? To the relief of R8 fans everywhere, Audi opted to do no such thing with the 2017 Audi R8 Spyder, appearing for the first time at the New York International Auto Show ahead of its release later this year. I caught up with Filip Brabec, director of product management at Audi, as well as the chief engineers on the project to find out why this roofless R8 hasn't lost its edge in the process.

Audi’s genius Auto Show WiFi teases A4 tech and snarks rivals

Audi’s genius Auto Show WiFi teases A4 tech and snarks rivals

In this day and age of the internet, mobile devices, and social media powered news, you'd wouldn't think getting online at the world's biggest conventions would be a problem. And yet such conventions, even tech-focused ones, are notorious for having near dismal networks. Car shows are, sadly, no exception either. Audi, however, has come up with a clever way to change all that at the 2016 New York Auto Show, and showcase the 2017 Audi A4 and its intelligent connectivity in the process. What better way to get the message across, goes the thinking, than with free, high-speed Wi-Fi.

Stanford’s autonomous Audi hits the track to improve its AI safety

Stanford’s autonomous Audi hits the track to improve its AI safety

While Audi already has its own, err, self-driving Audi, researchers at Stanford University have been working with an autonomous TTS for several years now, developing their own artificial intelligence. Now the school has shared that they're even hitting the race track, letting their car navigate the course at speeds up to 120mph. The purpose is not to have the Audi TTS, dubbed "Shelley," compete in a circuit with real humans, but rather to use the data from high speed driving to improve safety.

2016 Audi TT Roadster Review

2016 Audi TT Roadster Review

Audi's TT became a classic almost at the moment it was first launched and, now in its third generation, the TT Roadster can clearly trace its lines back to the original version of 1998. That was legitimately shocking at the time, a Bauhaus rocket ship that instantly left rivals looking flabby, soggy, limpid, or all three.

The Road to Daytona Rolex 24 in Audi’s RS7 Performance and S8 Plus

The Road to Daytona Rolex 24 in Audi’s RS7 Performance and S8 Plus

From the moment I got to the airport, and was handed the keys to a brand new Audi RS7 Performance, I knew this was no ordinary media drive program. This drool-worthy beast is now powered by a massive 605 HP, 553 lb-ft. of torque engine; for those keeping score, that’s 85 more horsepower than the standard V8, and an additional 73 lb-ft available via overboost. It certainly set the tone for what was to be an unforgettable few days leading to Rolex 24 at Daytona.
