Jinke A6 and A9 ereaders: WiFi, 3G, multitouch & SiPix e-ink

Still got an appetite for ereaders?  Jinke certainly hope so; they're showing off their latest designs, the Jinke A6 and A9, and rather than use the by-now traditional E Ink Vixplex panels found on the Kindle and nook they've switched to AUO's SiPix panels instead.  Both models - which right now don't seem to exist in anything but render form - will have multitouch, integrated WiFi a/b/g and optional 3G. AUO 14-inch OLED production imminent; LG Display 40-inch AMOLED in 2012

Could we soon be looking at large(ish) scale, reasonably priced OLED and AMOLED displays?  Probably not, at least when it comes to the pricing part, but both LG Display and AUO have announced mass production plans for their OLED and AMOLED panels, LG expecting to kick-start production in 2011 while AUO claims to be ready to start now. The tech world waits with baited breath for Barnes and Noble's dual-display ebook reader, expected to see an announcement today, but e-paper manufacturers aren't resting on their laurels.  AUO have two new milestones today: their first 6-inch flexible e-paper display, and the world's first 20-inch Electrophoretic Display (EPD) panel, the largest ready for mass production. AU Optronics planning 10-inch, A4 touchscreen epaper

The scaling up of business partnerships in the approach to the launch of Plastic Logic's eponymous ebook reader, together with the sell-out success of the Amazon Kindle DX certainly seems to suggest that there's a market out there for large-scale e-paper devices, and that's a segment manufacturer AU Optronics seem keen to capitalize on.  According to CEO LJ Chen, the company is ramping up to produce 10-inch and A4 (8 x 11 inch) sized e-paper panels.
