Zotac ZBOX PI320 delivers Windows 8.1 in a tiny box

Zotac is on a roll with its Windows-powered "pico" desktop computers. Popular for delivering small computers, some of which run Linux or are powered by ARM processors, Zotac has lately been delving into tiny boxes that run Windows 8.1 right out of the box, pardon the pun. Last month saw the rise of the BI320, its first Windows 8.1 mini box. Now we have the ZBOX PI320, with an even more powerful processor and a price tag that matches its extremely portable body.

ASUS MeMO Pad 7 slims KitKat slate with LTE

ASUS has revamped its MeMO Pad 7 Android tablet, bringing the 7-inch Android 4.4 slate down to 8.3mm thick and throwing Intel's Atom Z3560 processor inside. Revealed at IFA 2014 today, the MeMO Pad 7 has a 1920 x 1200 Full HD IPS display which ASUS is pushing for video consumption, along with Bluetooth aptX for higher-quality audio while you try not to disturb everyone else on the plane.

Acer beat rivals to the punch with an 8-inch Windows 8 tablet, the Iconia W3, but it's already time for its replacement, the Acer Iconia W4, to be revealed. Set to deliver Windows 8.1 on an Intel Atom 1.8GHz processor sometime this month, the $330 tablet isn't exactly a huge surprise, and nor is the W3's rapid demise so disappointing; we - and others - complained so much about the mediocre display, that Acer has given the Iconia W4 a new IPS LCD panel with Zero Air Gap touch.

Dell Venue 8 Pro and 11 Pro Windows 8.1 tablets trounce Surface Pro 2

Dell has taken the wraps off two new tablets in its resurrected Venue range, the Venue 8 Pro and Venue 11 Pro running Windows 8.1. The Venue 8 Pro puts Windows 8.1 on an 8-inch HD IPS touchscreen with an optional digitizer pen and the chance to add integrated LTE, with Intel Atom Baytrail under the hood. As for the Venue 11 Pro, that steps up to a Full HD 11-inch display and a detachable keyboard for easier text entry, with the same Active Stylus option.
