ASUS Eee Pad Transformer sequel running Windows 8 tipped for 2012

ASUS has apparently confirmed that it intends to offer an updated, Windows 8 version of the Eee Pad Transformer. Set to go on sale in 2012 - alongside a new Android version, Notebook Italia reports - the Transformer sequel will use the same detachable-keyboard design as the existing model, with a secondary battery hidden inside the dock section. ASUS confirms Eee Pad Transformer 3G and Slider due August

ASUS has confirmed that the first of its 3G-enabled Eee Pad Transformer tablets will arrive in August, with availability in the UK. At the same time, the ASUS Eee Pad Slider will also launch in the UK, offering 10-inches of Honeycomb in a slightly different form-factor.

What's likely to be one of the first Intel Ultrabooks to reach the market is expected to undercut its chief rival, the MacBook Air, by $100, according to the latest supply chain reports. The ASUS UX21, announced at Computex last week, will be $100 cheaper than the Apple ultraportable claim DigiTimes' sources, pegging an $899 price tag when it goes on sale in September this year. Microsoft’s new Windows 8 tablet UI got previewed this past week at the D9 Conference. The new OS was later shown running on some actual ARM-powered tablet prototypes at Computex. The major trade show in Taipei also revealed the ASUS Padfone to much fanfare and gimmickry. ASUS Eee Pad MeMO Shows off HD Games at Uplinq 2011

At Uplinq 2011 in an event by the name of Technical Super Session: What Your Apps Can Do When You Target Snapdragon, Qualcomm demonstrated two Gameloft games, one by the name of Real Soccer 2011 HD, the other by the name of Spider-Man Total Mayhem HD.
