ASUS confirms Eee Pad Transformer and Slider getting ICS asap

ASUS has quietly confirmed its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade schedule for the original Eee Pad Transformer and Eee Pad Slider, promising Android 4.0 will be pushed out as soon as possible after the January 12 Transformer Prime launch. The exact date of the upgrade is yet to be decided, but ASUS says it will be an OTA process rather than requiring the Eee Pad to be plugged into a computer to install it. Read The Full Story

ASUS Transformer Prime ICS due Jan 12 plus warranty-killing Bootloader unlock

ASUS Transformer Prime hits UK preorder, ships January

ASUS has thrown open UK pre-orders for the Eee Pad Transformer Prime, offering the Tegra 3 based Android tablet for £449 ahead of shipments beginning in January 2012. Only the 32GB WiFi model will be sold in the UK, bundled with the battery-toting keyboard dock, while those unwilling to wait for a quadcore can also get a discounted original Transformer to tide them over. Transformer Prime available 12/19 says ASUS

In addition to our first hands-on post and introduction to our review series on the ASUS Transformer Prime, we’ve got official word from the manufacturer on availability of the device in stores. While recent unconfirmed reports had the tablet coming out early in December, we’ve now got confirmation coming straight from ASUS that shipments should line up with the start of the week of 12/19/2011, this setting the release about one week later than the incorrect accounts. Furthermore, the first firmware over the air update is set to be released on the second of December, this putting it in plenty of time to be popping up on new Prime owners screens right out of the box.

Asus Transformer Prime available for pre-order at Best Buy now

The next most powerful Android device on earth is now available for pre-order from Best Buy, that being the Asus Transformer Prime, an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor toting 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet. This device is available for pre order in two forms: one with a gray back, the other with a champagne back. Both models have 32GB of data storage built-in with a microSD card slot to expand by an additional 32GB if you wish. They've also got the official champagne-colored keyboard dock and a mystery portable dock which we must assume is the gray-colored keyboard dock, both up for $149.99 and at pre-order status as well. This week we both saw the official announcement of the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer Prime and the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor that would power it – and today we get a special treat from ZTOP: a hands-on treatment complete with a size comparison to the comparatively hefty iPhone 4 (or the iPhone 4S). What kind of comparison is that, you might ask, why compare a tablet to a smartphone? Because the iPhone was sitting on the guy’s desk and he had an ASUS Transformer Prime to take some photos of, that’s why. ASUS Transformer Prime reportedly pushed to Dec for Ice Cream Sandwich

ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer Prime, the second-gen Transformer, may have its launch pushed back into December, so as to arrive running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich according to the latest rumors. ASUS Transformer Prime sets massive benchmark pre-release

Over the past few weeks we’ve been seeing glimpses of the next big tablet release from ASUS, one that’s all but guaranteed to carry the NVIDIA Kal-El quad-core processor, and today according to AnTuTu benchmarking system, we see that not only does this pair exist, it’s a powerhouse! Further supporting that schedule are documents for the tablet turning up at the FCC today, indicating that the slate is approved and indeed on its way for an imminent launch. Eee Pad Transformer Prime on Nov 9 tips ASUS doc

ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer Prime will launch on November 9, according to an investor conference presentation, with two further Eee Pad “hero products” expected in Q1 2012, as the company attempts to build on the success of the first-gen Transformer. Meanwhile, Windows 8 tablets are set to follow on later in 2012, according to the slide desk [pdf link], though the first such models won’t arrive until Q3 next year.
