Drowse Prevention Alarm-A different kind of alarm

, Mar 5th 2007 Discuss [1]

Ever find yourself literally falling asleep on your feet? I know that a lot of us have our reasons for being just plain exhausted for one reason or another. Be it a newborn, a second job or just a long drive home. I do strongly suggest that if you are sensing you might fall asleep at the wheel, pull over in a gas station and take a quick nap. Your loved ones will thank you later. Read The Full Story

An inconvenient mug

, Mar 5th 2007 Discuss [0]

I know a lot of us aren’t that great in the morning and as if Monday mornings weren’t bad enough, someone had to go and create a political mug. This mug based off of Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth, shows just a normal map. However, once you pour in your coffee it starts transforming and showing the effects of what the world will look like after Global Warming takes its full effect. Nothing like a cup about the effects of global warming to bring on that warm fuzzy feeling to start off your day. I am more then a little evil in the morning, but if you bring up anything political before I get my coffee I would suggest you start running. I don’t care what your views are on the whole global warming thing, but do you really have to think about it first thing?! It takes a lot of dedication, or cynicism to do that every morning. This Global Warming Mug is from Firebox and priced at about $12. Would you like ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ with your tea, dear? [via shinyshiny]

For the forgetful at heart-The Fred-O-Matic Kitchen Timer

, Mar 5th 2007 Discuss [0]

I am sure everyone has that thing that brings out their inner child. One of mine is cute little gadgets that do quirky things. Like this kitchen timer that is a miniature of a retro blender. The Fred-O-Matic Kitchen Timer will start playing 70’s game show jingles with the time is up, not only that, but it also starts blending away. Read The Full Story

The USB Absinthe Spoon-Have you seen the green fairy lately?

, Mar 2nd 2007 Discuss [1]

Now Absinthe is illegal in the US, apparently we have issues with anything that makes you see a glowing green fairy. The US has sort of become the prude country and well, anything different scares us. Read The Full Story

Russian Theater installs a cell phone blocker

, Mar 2nd 2007 Discuss [0]

Alright, I know we have all had to deal with that obnoxious person in the back of the theatre who not only forgot to put their phone on silent, but they actually answer it and talk for a while. Even worse, a lot of us have probably at least once been horribly embarrassed to discover the phone ringing is actually your own. Read The Full Story

Corded phone-What’s that?

, Mar 2nd 2007 Discuss [0]

Considering actually buying a phone with a cord? I would, my phone is constantly dead because I forgot to put it back on the receiver and then when someone calls, I can’t answer. Now you can buy the retro payphone; I know it is in fact pink which makes me a little sad. Read The Full Story

Every alcoholic’s best friend

, Feb 28th 2007 Discuss [0]

I know some of you think it is no big deal to walk over to the mini fridge and get a pop, beer, or whatever, however, it is a big deal. I mean first you have to get up, which is just awful, then you have to walk (I mean who does that). Then of course there is the horrible bending and opening the fridge, then you have to walk all the way back. Read The Full Story

Customizable tissue box-it leaves you with that “ewwie” feeling

, Feb 28th 2007 Discuss [0]

Every single time I look at this tissue box, it creeps me out. So, me being the kind person that I am I felt the urge to pass on the feeling to our readers here at Slashgear. This tissue box doesn’t just come with a baby; you can put your own pictures in there, exciting isn’t it. I’m sure some of you look at it and think that it’s cute, but it just looks unnatural. I agree tissue boxes do need to be updated and brought back to life with something besides a “cozy”. I would rather we just leave them as is than create them to look like this. Normally something like this would make me chuckle a bit, but for some unknown reason it weirds me out. Read The Full Story

I’m sure all of you live in a super chic household with not a single thing out of place. However, I don’t, shocking I know. Well for all of you the love chic look this lamp is definitely for you. Although, the design I’m sure sounds silly, it actually looks really cool. Read The Full Story

The army of drumming hippies

, Feb 27th 2007 Discuss [0]

Now you can have your very own army of drumming hippies (drumming not drunken). I have no idea why, but I think these things are awesome. Yes, I realize they are a bit ridiculous. Not only that, but the girls also kind of look like troll dolls. Read The Full Story

The Retro straightening iron-Meh!

, Feb 27th 2007 Discuss [0]

I absolutely love retro products; I even carry a cigarette case with a pinup girl on the front instead of a wallet like everyone else. There is a line of hair products out there now by head gear Retro, they have a hair dryer, straightening iron, and a Ceramic Spiral Tong. Read The Full Story

Dog’s best friend-the SimpleHuman Sensor Trash Can

, Feb 27th 2007 Discuss [0]

This is another one of those products that at first glance seems awesome. I was reading through it getting all excited, because I had found a way to be even more lazy. Then after it settled in a bit I realized that maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. The SimpleHuman Sensor Trash Can is exactly as it sounds, it senses your presence and it pops open for you.
