Welcome to the greatest Android device on the market today. I’m only half joking, as the specs on this very gaudy looking device are certainly nothing to scoff at, and it boasts the very strange accomplishment of being the second clamshell device running Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The first was of course the AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID 007SH, essentially the same basic components this device is built on. Yesterday we got a glimpse of the Yahoo! Android phone from Sharp AQUOS, today we get the next rebranded handset in the Hello Kitty Android flip phone. Is this just a Japanese fad, or are cross-brand re-releases of Android devices on the horizon?

This device has a fully waterproof body, boasts a 3.4-inch LCD touchscreen display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution, has a fabulous 0.7-inch OLED sub-display, connects along IEEE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 EDR, and will be rolling out on the same carrier as the Yahoo! phone, SoftBank. This device has a massive 16 megapixel camera on the back of the base capable of 1,280 x 720 pixel HD video recording. That’s insane. The best we’ve got here in the states is 8 megapixel cameras on our most advanced smartphones capable of 1080p recording at best. This device, like any good Japanese smartphone, has a digital TV tuner and e-wallet functionality as well.

The insides of the phones are all covered in Hello Kitty including wallpapers, icons, widgets, and apps. This device will be shipping in Japan next month – can we hope for such a masterpiece of oddities here in the United States anytime soon? Something tells me that no, not a chance. Physical keypad? The West hate such atrocities in the modern world. A flip phone? The West would never be caught using another Motorola RAZR. And yet this device and its perfectly neat Qualcomm MSM8255 1GHz processor is such an awesome little package, I can’t help but wish for it — perhaps with a slightly different branding, as it were. Maybe Sponge Bob?

As for the displays themselves, the four sets use edge-lit LED X-Gen LCD panels and Sharp’s Quattron Quad Pixel Technology. The latter adds in a dedicated yellow pixel to the usual red/green/blue trio, making yellow-hued pictures more lifelike and allowing more light through the panel so that the HDTV as a whole is brighter.

Four HDMI ports round out the key specs, and pricing kicks off from $1,299.99 for the 40-inch Sharp AQUOS Quattron LC-40LE830U. The LC-46LE830U has an MSRP of $1,499.99, the LC-52LE830U has an MSRP of $1,899.99, and finally the 60-inch LC-60LE830U has an MSRP of $2,799.99.

Press Release:

Sharp Ships Four New AQUOS Quattron LED LCD TVs in March

AQUOS Quattron LE830 Series TV models are available in 60-, 52-, 46- and 40-inch screen size classes
Quattron Quad Pixel Technology
Each provides built-in WiFi and a suite of network features including CinemaNow™, Netflix®, VUDU™, DLNA® video streaming and AQUOS Advantage Livesm customer service

Sharp Electronics Corporation is shipping all four of the LE830 Series AQUOS Quattron LED LCD TV models it introduced at CES in March, including models in 60-, 52-, 46- and 40-inch screen size classes. All models employ Sharp’s proprietary edge-lit LED X-Gen LCD panels and Quattron Quad Pixel Technology for the widest color palette available from LCD TVs and brighter images. Built-in WiFi in all models delivers wide network functionality such as video streaming from the Internet and throughout the home, as well as Sharp’s best-in-class AQUOS Advantage Live customer service.

Each AQUOS Quattron model features Sharp’s proprietary Quad Pixel Technology that adds the color Y (yellow) to the three colors of R (red), G (green), and B (blue) of the traditional television pixel structure. This technology enables the reproduction of colors that have been difficult to portray using conventional LCD displays, such as the brass color of musical instruments. The addition of the yellow sub-pixel also allows more light to pass through to the panel. Sharp’s advanced pixel control technology minimizes light leakage while offering a wider aperture to let more light through. The combination of these factors results in brighter, more vibrant images. Sharp’s LE830 Series models also employ Quad Pixel Plus to improve image resolution.

These models also offer built-in WiFi and access to Netflix, VUDU and CinemaNow, as well as four HDMI inputs for simple connections to multiple HD components. An attractive slim and narrow bezel design provides a great complement to any home theater viewing environment.

The new Sharp AQUOS Quattron LCD TVs boast extremely low power consumption and are ENERGY STAR 5.1 qualified, the highest energy efficiency specification.

Last week, Sharp Electronics Corporation announced it had been selected to receive a 2011 Excellence in Energy Efficient Product Design Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® program. This award recognizes Sharp’s ongoing commitment to promoting energy-efficiency amongst the consumer electronics and business products’ trade and consumers, as well as the company’s efforts to lead by example in the execution of its business operations.

Pricing and Availability
The LC-60LE830U has an MSRP of $2,799.99
The LC-52LE830U has an MSRP of $1,899.99
The LC-46LE830U has an MSRP of $1,499.99
The LC-40LE830U has an MSRP of $1,299.99

Yesterday, Sharp announced that the company’s GALAPAGOS mobile phones would be getting 3D gaming, courtesy of Capcom and others, but that’s not all the 3D love the company has in store for the future. Sharp has officially unveiled their brand new BD-HP90 3D Blu-ray player as well, packing plenty of features into an extremely small package.

The new 3D Blu-ray player is only 35mm thick, which you can already guess makes it the thinnest 3D Blu-ray player out there. And, as the image above shows, the Blu-ray player can actually work just as easily standing on its side, as it can lying down. You’ll find an Ethernet port, HDMI interface, and a USB port on the back of the device. There’s an AQUOS Link, too. While the device can indeed play 3D Blu-ray discs, it does not support BDXL.

At the moment, Sharp is only planning on releasing the new Blu-ray player in Japan, and that begins on November 20th. Price wise, it will retail for about $495. Unfortunately, there’s no word on any kind of international release.

Inside, Sharp has squeezed both a digital and an analog TV tuner, though they’ve not been able to fit a hard-drive in as well, unfortunately. Up to 1080/24p Full HD output is supported, together with 3D content, and there’s an i.Link port for hooking up an external source – like a PVR or camcorder – and offloading video to disc.

Japanese buyers wanting to slip an AQUOS BD-AV70 under their Christmas tree should save up around 85,000 yen ($1,049). No word on any potential launch outside of the country at this stage.

For TV manufacturers, getting the best quality picture to the consumer is a top priority. For Sharp, they’ve tried to reach that goal by introducing TVs with the Quattron technology, which successfully adds a fourth color (yellow) to the standard Red, Green, Blue. The result is a sharper image, and better colors on the screen. The same technology is now going into their brand new LC-52-LB3 and LC-46LB3 AQUOS Quattron 3D LCD TVs, which were just announced by the company.

Both sets have the same features. Their only difference is their size and pricing. Sharp managed to include a Blu-ray recorder, which they’ve built into the sets along the side. The Blu-ray recorder is 3D-capable. If you decide to drop your hard-earned cash down for the new 3D sets, you’ll be getting full HD resolution, and a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1. You’ll also, obviously, get the Quattron technology, which should offer you a sharper, and more color-rich experience, for both 2D and 3D viewing.

You’ll find one USB port on the sets, and BDXL compatibility. The LCD TVs also feature LED backlighting. Sharp isn’t coming clean on when we should expect these two brand new Quattron series LCD TVs internationally, but they are launching in Japan on November 15th. If you’re in the area around that time and looking for a new TV, then be ready to drop roughly $5,050 for the 46-inch model, and $6,000 for the 52-inch version.

Press Release

Sharp Corporation will introduce into the Japanese market two models in the new LB Series of AQUOS Quattron 3D LCD TVs. The LCD panels in the LB Series (52V- and 46V-inch) use Sharp’s proprietary four-primary-color technology, and both models feature 3D-compatible Blu-ray Disc (BD) recorders.

The LCD panels in the LB Series use four-primary-color technology developed by Sharp based on its proprietary UV2A technology*2. This technology adds Y (yellow) to the three RGB (red, green, blue) primary colors and significantly improves light utilization efficiency to provide a brightness approximately 1.8 times greater*3 than conventional three-primary-color LCD panels, enabling users to enjoy vivid, impressive 2D and 3D images. In addition, these models are equipped with a new Quattron Pure Mode that automatically optimizes high-definition images to match the four-primary-color technology, resulting in smooth, natural reproduction of images from the built-in Blu-ray Disc recorder.

The built-in 3D-compatible Blu-ray Disc recorder enables viewers to enjoy Blu-ray 3D™ video using a single unit. Plus, these recorders are compatible with BDXL™*4, the new format for multi-layer recordable Blu-ray Discs, and can record up to approximately 87 hours*5 of high-definition TV programming in extended recording mode.

These models also offer functions for enhanced connectivity with peripheral devices such as digital cameras and mobile phones, and support wireless LAN adaptors.

Sharp will continue to expand its lineup of AQUOS Quattron LCD TVs featuring four-primary-color technology to meet the diverse needs of consumers.

65-inch LCD TV Available to More Consumers; 60-inch Represents New Screen Size

MAHWAH, N.J. – Sharp offers two competitively-priced AQUOS LCD TVs that make large-screen units with advanced performance attainable for more consumers. The 65-inch LC-65E77UM (64-33/64” Diagonal) and 60-inch LC-60E77UN (60-1/32” Diagonal) AQUOS LCD TVs join the acclaimed E77 series, filling out a lineup of Full-HD 1080p models that bring enhanced picture quality to the forefront. Additionally, the LC-60E77UN is the first 60-inch LCD TV on the market, meeting the need for a highly sought-after screen class size.

“With the increasing adoption of flat-panel display TVs, consumers expect larger screen sizes with advanced performance at a good value,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “The addition of the 65-inch class E77 series LCD TV and introduction of a new screen size class at 60 inches enables more consumers to bring home large-screen TVs.”

The LC-65E77UM and LC-60E77UN employ Sharp’s Advanced Super View (ASV) Superlucent Panel for a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced haze and reflectivity. They also feature Sharp’s Fine Motion Enhanced technology for 120Hz Frame Rate Conversion and a fast pixel response time of 4ms, providing the ultimate medium for high-definition viewing of fast-action imagery.

Two components of the Spectral Contrast Engine, Optical Picture Control (OPC), which automatically adjusts luminance to room brightness and lighting conditions, and Brightness Preservation picture processing, also make these models very energy-efficient. In fact, all models in the E77 series exceed the EPA’s Energy Star criteria. An advanced Power Savings mode is easily accessed through a dedicated remote control button.

The large-screen E77 series provides a stunning picture and a new design sure to complement any décor. The black cabinet blends elegantly into a soft champagne gold hue that accents the bottom of the frame, befitting both modern and traditional design schemes. These AQUOS models also come equipped with a full array of connectivity options, including four HDMI™ and two component video inputs, all of which are 1080p compatible, accepting signals from Blu-ray Disc™ players and advanced gaming devices.

Sharp just released another excellent 52-inch HDTV, which adds another phenomenal set to their AQUOS line. It supports full high definition at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, and it pushes out a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother on-screen motion. And for all you sports fans and gamers, the 4-millisecond response time makes this great for watching and playing.

The LC52 also features an LED system offering 450 cd/m2 brightness and high contrast, as well as reducing power consumption and lengthening the television’s life expectancy. The HDTV has a viewing angle of 176 degrees. For the more basic aspects of connectivity, there are four HDMI ports (version 1.3), a USB connector for viewing photos, 2 component ports, 2 composite ports, and finally a VGA PC connection.

The set also provides AQUOS Net, which is Sharp’s internet service that provides games, weather reports, and stocks. Finally, the HDTV offers great black levels and an all-around excellent picture. And at its competitive price of under $2,000, it’s starting to look a lot more justifiable.

Press Release:

SHARP INTRODUCES AQUOS LED

Breakthrough New Line of LED Backlit LCD TVs Bring Superior Brightness and Image Quality Combined with Industry’s Lowest Power Consumption for True Value

NEW YORK, July 8, 2009 – Sharp Electronics unveils, for the first time worldwide, AQUOS LED, an LCD TV series that provides the ultimate in picture quality and value, offering consumers the lowest power consumption of any available LCD TV. A new series of LCD TVs that combines Sharp’s award-winning AQUOS LCD technology with a Full-Array LED backlight system, the new LE700 AQUOS LED series delivers unprecedented image quality and energy-efficient, eco-friendly performance. This Full-HD 1080p LCD TV series, available in 52- (LC-52LE700UN), 46- (LC-46LE700UN), 40- (LC-40E700UN) and 32-inch (LC-32LE700UN) screen class sizes (52 1/32”, 45 63/64”, 40”, and 31 35/64” diagonal respectively), introduces a newly-developed X-Gen Panel with advanced pixel control for extremely deep black levels.

The AQUOS LED series also includes Sharp’s AQUOS Net™* capability, a service that gives users instant access to customized Web-based content as well as real-time customer support.

“Sharp demonstrated the unlimited possibilities of LCD, bringing the first LED back-lit AQUOS LCD TV to market last year, and we continue to advance the category today,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “With the introduction of the AQUOS LED series, we are bringing consumers an affordable display solution with superior picture and environmental performance that provides a true value. Sharp is able to deliver a price-competitive yet high-performance product by producing many of the key components of the TV, including the LED components and the LCD panel.”

Superior Picture Quality
The proprietary AQUOS LED system incorporates Sharp’s UltraBrilliant LED backlight technology that illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness and contrast levels. The system includes a full array of LEDs evenly dispersed behind the diffuser, resulting in more uniform colors and brightness across the entire screen, as well as improved color purity for the smoothest picture possible. Additionally, this series uses Sharp’s proprietary next-generation Full HD 1080p X-Gen LCD panel with 10-bit processing, designed with advanced pixel control to minimize light leakage, producing extremely deep black levels. The X-Gen panel also provides a wider aperture to allow more light to pass through the panel, resulting in higher peak brightness. The panel provides Spectral Contrast Engine MC for an extremely high Dynamic Contrast Ratio of more than 2,000,000:1 for crisp picture quality and vibrant colors, as well as a special dejudder feature (on the LC-52LE700UN and LC-46LE700UN) that results in the smooth reproduction of film content.

Rounding out this premium picture, the series offers Fine Motion Enhanced technology for 120Hz Frame Rate Conversion and a fast pixel response time of 4ms, providing the ultimate medium for high-definition viewing, ensuring viewers never miss a detail. For flexible room placement, the series has impressive 176-degree viewing angles, enabling the color reproduction to appear bright and vivid from virtually anywhere in a room.

Eco-Efficient Design
In addition to a first-class picture, the AQUOS LED series was designed to bring overall value to the consumer, with several eco-friendly improvements enabled by LED technology. The UltraBrilliant full array LED backlight enables precise light output with higher luminance per watt so less power is needed. The TV is also equipped with a system designed to lower power consumption during use by adjusting the screen brightness based on the level of brightness in the area of installation. In fact, this series offers the industry’s lowest power consumption of any LCD TV currently available on the market.** The LC-52LE700UN consumes 105W, exceeding the EPA’s ENERGY STAR criteria for TVs: Version 3.0 by 68 percent; the LC-46LE700UN consumes 90W, exceeding ENERGY STAR guidelines by 63 percent; the LC-40LE700UN consumes 75W, exceeding ENERGY STAR guidelines by 60 percent; and the LC-32LE700UN consumes 55W, exceeding ENERGY STAR guidelines by 52 percent.

In addition to lower power consumption, the AQUOS LED series is built to last longer – as a solid-state light source, LEDs generate less heat and are more durable, leading to a longer lifespan – an expected 100,000 hours, two thirds longer than traditional LCD TVs.

This TV series also uses eco-friendly components and uses no mercury – LED is a mercury-free light source. The units house fewer components with a reduction of heavy metals, which makes for easy recycling and an overall carbon footprint reduction.

AQUOS Net
Included in the LE700 series*, AQUOS Net is an internet-based service that gives Sharp AQUOS customers access to personalized information. Viewers can check everyday information with a push of a button on the television’s remote control, in either full screen or split screen. Currently available through AQUOS Net is content from Weatherbug to check the local forecast, NASDAQ for stock quotes, Accedo Broadband for casual games such as blackjack and Sudoku, UCLICK to follow daily comic strips, daily local NAVTEQ Traffic™ reports, AQUOS Gallery, which provides users with beautiful high-resolution 1080p images of scenery and nature, and a variety of web-based content from NBCU’s broad portfolio.

Through AQUOS Net, consumers also have access to unparalleled customer support for their television, including the ability to have dedicated AQUOS AdvantageSM advisors connect remotely to their TV to assist in adjusting the TV’s settings and optimizing picture quality for the best viewing experience. This interactive tool, known as AQUOS Advantage LiveSM, is easily accessible from the AQUOS Net home page.

Advanced Connectivity
These Full-HD 1080p models boast an array of connection options, including four HDMI™ (v1.3 with Deep Color) and two component video inputs, all of which are 1080p compatible, accepting signals from Blu-ray Disc™ players and advanced gaming devices. A true high-definition TV, each model houses a built-in ATSC, QAM and NTSC tuner for access to DTV and analog TV channels. The LE700 series also features an RS-232C input for custom installations and a PC input so the TV serves a dual purpose as a PC monitor. Additionally, Sharp’s AQUOS LINK™ feature allows users to seamlessly control compatible, HDMI-connected products using a single remote control. The series also includes a USB photo/music player* for the convenience of high-resolution digital photo viewing and MP3 music enjoyment on the TV.

Sharp just keeps cranking out the TVs! The latest in their AQUOS line is the A-Series. It’s getting its first reveal in Japan and consists of three different HDTVs: the LC-52AE6 at 52-inches, the LC-46AE6 at 46-inches and the LC-40AE6 at 40-inches. But the best thing about them is they’re green.

These TVs actually share a lot in common. For instance, they all three have a 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 120Hz de-judder tech, a digital TV tuner, 450 nits of brightness, 15,000:1 contrast ratio, stereo speakers, a viewing angle of 176 degrees and an ambient light sensor. Plus, they consume much less power, making them an eco-choice for TVs.

It seems the only real difference between these models is the size of the screens. The 40-inch model will be shipping on April 10th for the equivalent of $2,076. The 46- and 52-inch models will be shipping on May 15th for the equivalent of $2,698 and $4,048, respectively.

The new Aqous LCDs are capable of 450 cd/m2 luminance output, the 32-inch is better equipped in contrast department, rated at 3000:1 contrast as oppose to its smaller siblings with 1500:1 rating. Other features included analog/digital tuners for Japanese broadcast system, improved image processing LSI unit, noise reduction digital amplifier and HDMI connectivity.

There aren’t much to go on with the basic Aquous D except its energy saver performance to achieve over 50 percent power reduction. The Sharp units are sensor-based displays to auto adjust backlit brightness, but unlike the Sony’s eco friendly Bravia, its auto shutdown function reads signal inputs instead of scanning the presence of audiences in the room.

All models are available in three colors from red, white to black, and are scheduled to be released in Japan on the 20th this month. The 32 inch model will be selling for 140,000 Yen ($ 1,556), while the 26 and 20 inch models are priced at 110,000 Yen ($ 1,230) and 90,000 Yen ($ 1007) respectively.

Today Sharp announced the new BD series of LCD TVs that include built-in Blu-ray players. Focusing on the needs of consumers the series will be available in 54” 46” 42” 37”and 32” sizes. This new line will incorporate AQUOS Pure Mode as well as a Superview Panel to enhance the viewing experience.

The HDTVs are all 1080p with 120Hz and have a built-in Blu-ray player so users can basically choose the size they prefer without losing out on specific features. The entire line of AQUOS BD Series LCD TVs will provide an All-in-One Home Theater solution for an amazing high-definition viewing experience. AQUOS Pure Mode has been incorporated into these HDTVs in order to reduce gloss and save energy.

We certainly are excited to see such amazing HDTVs with built-in Blu-ray players. There’s still no physical dimension information available yet. The new BD series will cost $2599, $2299, $1899, $1299 and $1099 descending according to size.

SHARP® PREMIERES WORLD’S FIRST HIGH-DEFINITION LCD TV SERIES WITH BUILT-IN BLU-RAY PLAYER

Full line-up of AQUOS® BD Series Provides All-in-One Home Theater Solution for a Paramount
High-Definition Viewing Experience

LAS VEGAS, January 7, 2009 – Strengthening its position as an innovative leader in the LCD TV industry, Sharp today introduces the world’s first AQUOS® LCD TV Series with a built-in
Blu-ray Disc TM player, for a convenient all-in-one home theater solution. The Full-HD 1080p AQUOS BD series, which includes the 52-inch class (52-1/32” diagonal) LC-52BD80U, 46-inch class (45-63/64” diagonal) LC-46BD80U, 42-inch class (42-1/64” diagonal) LC-42BD80U, 37-inch class (37” diagonal) LC-37BD60U and 32-inch class (31-35/64” diagonal) LC-32BD60U screen class sizes, combines the ultimate high definition television with the ultimate high definition content format with a side-loading multi-slot for Blu-ray, DVD and CD content. The series offers a single-step operation feature that turns on the TV and activates play when a BD disc is inserted. In addition, the BD series features a newly developed Advanced Super View (ASV) Superlucent panel for a dramatically bright and crisp picture with reduced reflection and a new AQUOS Pure Mode for convenient optimized viewing of Blu-ray titles. A new elegant “AQUOS Blue” design includes a subtle blue accent at the bottom of the frame and a swivel stand for viewing convenience.
“We created this series to offer consumers a product that provides the same high-quality, clear picture they’ve come to expect from a Sharp AQUOS, but with the added convenience of a Blu-ray player for a unique combination solution that allows playback of the latest HD Blu-ray movies,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation. “This product is a one-stop, stylish home theater and the built-in side-loading Blu-ray slot is also a space-saver for style-conscious consumers, eliminating the need for a separate box and extra cables.”

Superior Image Quality
To realize the full capability of Blu-ray movies, the AQUOS BD Series offers an excellent picture, with the most advanced imaging technology on the market. Sharp’s new ASV Superlucent panel applies an ultra-smooth finish that minimizes gloss while intensifying panel brightness and contrast. The AQUOS Pure Mode automatically senses the Blu-ray disc content and intelligently adjusts display settings such as aspect ratio to optimize the movie image. The LC-52BD80U, LC-46BD80U and LC-42BD80U further improve picture quality with Fine Motion Enhanced technology for 120Hz Frame Rate Conversion, a 10-bit panel for Deep Color compatibility and “dejudder” technology that results in the smooth reproduction of film content. All five models offer fast pixel response time, ensuring that viewers never miss a detail of high-definition content. Additionally, Sharp’s proprietary Spectral Contrast Engine provides deep blacks and high contrast ratios. This ultimate home entertainment series also offers impressive 176 degree viewing angles, enabling the color reproduction to appear bright and vivid from virtually anywhere in a room.

Extensive Connectivity
These Full-HD 1080p models are very fully featured, with four HDMI inputs on the LC-52BD80U, LC-46BD80U and LC-42BD80U and three on the LC-37BD60U and LC-32BD60U, as well as two component video inputs, all of which are 1080p compatible. The HDMI terminals all have 24p input capability for high-quality Blu-ray video processing. A true high-definition TV, the models house a built-in ATSC and QAM tuner for access to DTV channels. The units also feature an RS-232C input for custom installations and a PC input so the TV serves a dual purpose as a PC monitor.

The Softbank Sharp Aquos Fulltouch 931SH phone features a crystal clear screen, quality specs and a generally stylish appeal that many would flock to.

The screen is the biggest draw here, no question. Sporting a 1024 x 480 resolution, this 3.8-inch display is actually a touchscreen. Funnily enough, the resolution is similar to that which is provided on notebooks, not cell phones, so this is really a cut above.

It is also outfitted with a 5.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, a music player, 3G connectivity, RFID and a 1-Seg TV Tuner. The latter allows you to watch live TV right on your handset. Of course, this phone will most likely never be released outside of Japan. Such a bummer, but hey, at least we can gawk at the new Sharp Aquos Fulltouch in envy, right?

If you are in the market to get a full scale 1080p big screen, there are two interesting choices that may get your attention. VUDU, a VOD service that offers instant access of HD, TV shows and thousands of movies online has teamed up with Sharp to promote Free Vudu set of box with $50 of movies with the purchase of a 42” and up 1080p Aquos LCD. No? The sound of ‘voodoo’ may not get the wife approval? That’s ok. You can keep the wife happy and get Panasonic Plasma with Blu-Ray player deal instead. Panasonic is running a special with $499 saving on a 42” or 50” 1080p plasma TV with the purchase of DMP-BD30K 1080p Blu-ray Disc player. That’s probably one of the best standalone Blu-Ray player to date with profile 1.1 and HBR Bitstream.
