Apple TV shows up at the FCC as the smaller model A1469

An FCC filing has popped up showing a new Apple TV model smaller than the current version, dubbed model A1469. As far as design goes, not much appears changed besides the smaller dimensions, although there isn't much to go on at this point. Not surprisingly, Apple hasn't said anything about the device. You can check out its diagram after the jump.

When Will That Apple Television Finally Launch?

When Will That Apple Television Finally Launch?

The Apple Television has been rumored for a long, long time. We’ve heard that the television will come in multiple sizes, probably be priced a bit higher than the average set on the market, and integrate iCloud. Better yet, it’ll support apps, allowing for more functionality across the board.

The most talk surrounding the television cropped up last year when Walter Isaacson published his Steve Jobs biography. In that, Jobs noted that he believed that he had finally “cracked” the code for a television that would best all others in the marketplace. Analysts, ready to predict Apple’s plans, performed a host of supply chain checks to find out if Apple was in fact working on a television. Nearly universally, they said that it indeed was.

An Apple Television? Find it in the storeroom by the netbook prototypes

Apple is trialling yet more televisions, if you believe the chunnering from the supply chain, and - so eager analysts would have us believe - is one step closer to taking over your living room. Whispers of new test hardware using big Sharp LCDs and Foxconn's production skills come on the heels of research suggesting a fair number of consumers are desperate to throw more money at their Cupertino addiction, as well as CEO Tim Cook's tongue-in-cheek "it's an area of intense interest" comments last week. Yet in reality, despite the hype, little has actually changed from the last batch of rumors, and we're no closer to chucking out our BRAVIA for a Siri-controlled set.

"It isn't a formal project yet" one of the supply chain tipsters tells the WSJ, "it is still in the early stage of testing"; that's despite other sources suggesting that Apple's dalliance with television prototypes has lasted for "a number of years."

Apple HDTV tipped to include 3D Imaging Magic

It would appear that the next-generation Apple TV set that's been rumored for many, many moons may well be coming with a bang - a 3D imaging bang that's more than twice its worth in bucks. It's being reported today by analysts at Morgan Stanley that Apple will not just be bringing a full-fledged TV set to the market very soon, but that it could very well be bringing with it a barrage of next-generation context-aware or otherwise 3D sensitive technology. This set of suggestions comes from a combination of a rather "ripe" market for an "iTV" product and the fact that Apple has filed a lovely collection of patents over the past set of years that together would create a magical device ready for hot sales and an imminent release.
