iPad 4G LTE official with 10 hour battery

This week the folks at Apple have revealed their newest iPad hardware refresh, this device having access to 4G LTE speeds. This iPad is not called the iPad 3, nor it is called the iPad HD, instead it's just the newest device, having here the ability to work with “LTE for max of 72Mbps. It’s amazing, you’re going to love using it on these new high speed networks” as Apple's Eddie Cue noted at the big iPad 3rd generation event. Apple details iPad 3’s new iSight camera

Apple revealed that the next-gen iPad will feature an updated iSight camera with a 5-megapixel backside illuminated sensor, 5-element lens, IR filter, and ISP built into the A5X chip. Although it’s not an 8-megapixel sensor as some might have hoped, the upgraded optics, which are similar to what’s on the iPhone 4S should provide the more than satisfying image quality.

At today's iPad event, the high definition Retina Display was first off the blocks in a set of features that make up the next generation device. This upgraded display has the 9.7-inch screen of the iPad set at 2048 x 1536 pixels, this being "for the first time an iPad has a higher resolution than even the display behind me" as Apple's Eddie Cue noted. This display has "1 million more pixels than HDTV" Apple touted, with "264 pixels per inch in this display, and that's enough to call it a Retina Display."

Ahead of unveiling the iPad 3, Apple is talking iPad numbers and performance so far, which you can imagine are impressive. In just the last quarter, Apple has sold 15.4 million units of the tablet, leaping well over PC sales. In fact, according to Apple, HP sold only 15.1 million PCs total in that same quarter.

Apple TV 1080p refresh announced for March 16

This week Apple CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple TV will be refreshed with a new device that supports 1080p video, this standard also set for the iTunes movie store as well. As Cook noted, "we're also announcing that movies and TV shows in the iTunes store support 1080p HD. They are absolutely incredible quality." In addition it was announced that Apple TV would get a software upgrade, presenting a "new streamlined user interface" as well as iTunes Match support.

Think you know what's coming up on March 7th, when Apple finally (maybe, likely, definitely) reveals the iPad 3? Then put your money where your far-flung prediction is. That was the idea behind SkyBet's iPad 3 prediction betting pool, which briefly allowed gamblers to place bets on the specifications of the upcoming ubergadget. Unfortunately the gambilng site took down its prospective predisctions a few hours later. Some of the odds had climbed as high as twelve to one.
