iPad mini 2 official with Retina display

This morning Apple has officially brought on a 2nd generation of their popular iPad mini tablet, complete with Retina display. This version of the iPad mini works with a body and presentation extremely similar to the original, working with a physical appearance not all that unlike the iPad mini's first edition. This iPad mini will be hitting the market with at least two different colorways - a darker gray and a lighter silver / white, and will be appearing aside the new 5th generation iPad - the iPad Air as well.

Apple details a rewritten 64-bit version of iWork

Apple has already talked a bit of software in terms of Mavericks, but they also have the apps that will be available for those using OS X, and iOS. In this case, we have word of an updated version of iWork. The talk of the updated iWork suite began with mention of how it has been completely rewritten and how it is now 64-bit. To that, Apple has said "its never been faster."

We saw some details in terms of numbers and we saw what appears to be a plan to allow Apple to serve up huge numbers for Mavericks. Coming out of the Apple event, it looks like OS X Mavericks is going to be available beginning today. This latest news comes just a few weeks after the gold master was made available for developers. iPad 5 anticipation high ahead of October 22nd Apple event

There's little doubt at this point whether or not there will be an October 22nd event held by Apple that will, in turn, be the first official home for the 5th generation iPad. Seeing an original leak from AllThingsD then a simple "Yep" from the likes of The Loop's Jim Dalrymple, this event will almost certainly center on not only the newest full-sized iPad, but the 2nd generation iPad mini as well. These devices will converge on aesthetic design this time around, both appearing much more like the original iPad mini industrially than the original iPad or iPad 2.
