What we’ve seen thus far has been a collection of smartphones, a wireless charging pad, some speakers, and a few headphones in Nokia bright colors as well. Nokia Windows Phone 8 smartphone details tipped for NYC event
September 5th will be the day that Microsoft and Nokia hold an event in New York to bring on not two, but three new Windows Phone 8 Apollo devices. This set of three devices will be nicknamed "Arrow", "Phi", and "Atlas" per sources familiar with the matter speaking with The Verge. These devices will be part of Nokia's Lumia lineup and each of their names are certainly subject to change.

Nokia World set to preempt New iPhone with Apollo

Saying that it was "the sexiest thing in Windows Phone 8", Microsoft's Joe Belfiore let the world know that it was all about to change at the Windows Phone Developer Summit, front to back. Live Tiles have been at the base of the Windows Phone 7 experience from the start, and here in Windows Phone 8, they've been given a whole new life with not one or two new sizes, but three. In Windows Phone 8 there will be a tile that's square at standard medium, one at small, and one at large "double-wide", as it were.

T-Mobile Germany: no Apollo for Nokia Lumia 900 (Update: Official response)
Hopes were dashed for Windows Phone aficionados when it was reported in April that current handsets like the Nokia Lumia 900 may not receive an upgrade to Apollo (aka Windows Phone 8). the::unwired has now confirmed via a statement posted by a T-Mobile Germany representative that the handset definitely won’t be receiving the update. The latest information comes after T-Mobile customers pinged the operator asking when the handset was due to be released on the network.

Qualcomm continues Windows Phone dominance with Apollo
This week the folks at Qualcomm have confirmed that they'll be working with manufacturers across the board to put their own Snapdragon processor line in to Windows Phone 8 Apollo devices. Windows Phone Apollo to open up customization to OEMs?

Samsung confirms Windows Phone 8 for October
Samsung was recently rumored to be preparing three new Windows Phone handsets this year, with two of them likely to run the Windows Phone 8 Apollo update. Now Samsung's Taiwan division has confirmed that the company plans to release at least one Windows Phone 8 handset as soon as October, the earliest that Microsoft might release the next-gen platform.

Microsoft Roadmap leaks with 2012-14 products galore
It appears that Microsoft has had leaked a roadmap which shows many product releases in both the software and hardware departments for the year 2012. This roadmap was created back in December of 2011 and was leaked this week via Microsoft’s own publicly available Microsoft Partner Network and sent out by Twitter user and CEO of startup company MeeTroo Maarten Visser. This roadmap shows software including Office 15, Internet Explorer 10, Lync Server 15, Windows Phone, and more.
Kinect on Windows Phone 8 in the pipeline
The technology that drives the Kinect system for your Xbox 360 as well as your Windows PC will soon be coming to Windows Phone in miniature. Several sources (one of them drunk, the others said to be entirely reliable) have spoken with VR-Zone's Theo Valich about Kinect NUI (Natural User Interface) and its future with Windows Phone 8. This technology will be coming to Windows Phone 8 codename Apollo or one of its updates and will have the platform transformed in no time flat.

Nokia WP8 Prodigy and AC/DC leaked
The folks at Nokia have had a couple of new devices leaked it seems, both of them smartphones running what will be the next generation of Microsoft mobile operating systems: Windows Phone 8. These devices are called Nokia Prodigy and Nokia AC/DC presumably nick-named after whoever's job it is to name device's favorite bands, with the Prodigy set as a high-end device and the AC/DC set as a mid-range device, both of them coming out with a set of colors that's not to be missed.
