When it comes to increasing my work productivity and more realistic video games, I want a large screen LCD. For me 24-inches is the smallest I want to go and I really prefer a 30-inch LCD. The catch is that there are still only a few 30-inch screens on the market.

AOC are well known for their reasonably priced monitors, and with the 2230Fh they threw eye-catching design into the ring too.  A 22-inch widescreen LCD display, running at 1680 x 1050, the 2230Fh pairs a low $299 MRSP with a surprising array of connectivity.  Is it a true bargain though, or just a load of marketing boasts?  Read on for the full SlashGear review.

Since the economy is in a serious downturn, AOC has decided to offer a much more affordable monitor that still possesses the style and functionality of some of the higher priced models. The F19 is a 16:9 widescreen display that sports a slim form factor at a decent price.

AOC have announced a super-skinny new LCD monitor, the V17, which measures less than 12mm in depth.  Based around a 17-inch panel, the V17 runs at 1,440 x 900 with a contrast ratio of 5,000:1 and 10ms response time.  Despite the compact dimensions, it also manages to include a VGA webcam in the bezel.

AOC have shown us their big displays, now they’re trying to persuade us that smaller can be just as impressive.  Their latest Envision 861-series comes in three sizes – 19, 26 and 32-inches – are have resolutions apparently “tailored for optimum viewing with limited space”.  The smallest comes in at 1440 x 900 while the larger two manage 1366 x768; not really true HD, despite the ‘HDTV’ tag, as most consumers would expect it (e.g. 1080p).

AOC seem to be on a roll with fresh displays, with a further three new models arriving today.  Most interesting, perhaps, is the 2230Fm HD3 display, which combines a 22-inch 1080p LCD with a built-in media player. Plug a memory card or USB stick into either the USB port or 4-in-1 card reader, and you can access any photos or video stored on it through the HD3 menu system.

AOC 2230Fh 22-inch HDTV

AOC are a brand more traditionally associated with computer monitors, but all that playing with LCD panels seems to have given them a taste for frivolity and their latest display is more home entertainment than home office.  A 22-inch high-definition TV, the AOC 2230Fh combines HDMI, DVI and VGA inputs for the best of work and play.  It’s no terrible compromise, either; a 20,000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time is highly respectable.
