As it turns out, there's an Angry Birds movie slated for release in 2016, with Despicable Me's John Cohen attached to produce. Yes, this is really happening, but the question now is whether or not people will still be playing Angry Birds in another three years. Verizon confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Camera in cobalt black today, while Twitter looked back on its highlights of 2012.

Angry Birds movie to be produced by Despicable Me’s John Cohen, will release in 2016

Today, Rovio announced that Despicable Me producer John Cohen has signed on to produce the forthcoming Angry Birds movie that's set to release sometime in the summer of 2016. Furthermore, former Marvel Studios chairman and Iron Man producer David Maisel will serve as the executive producer of the film, and Rovio will finance and retain full creative control during production.

Today we heard that Judge Lucy Koh will examine claims of misconduct on the part of the jury foreman in the Samsung vs. Apple patent trial, and Apple is actually being dragged back to court for a dispute over FaceTime in the iPhone 5 and iPad mini. Speaking of the iPad mini, Apple confirmed today that the LTE iPad minis should be shipping out in the next five days, and the company announced that it will be donating $2.5 million to the Hurricane Sandy recovery effort on behalf of its employees.

Angry Birds Star Wars grabs US iOS top spot in record time

Angry Birds Star Wars took the US App Store top spot in under 2.5 hours, developer Rovio has confirmed, breaking release-day records for the company. Rovio hasn't released exact sales numbers for the game, which was pushed out into the App Store - along with the Android Play market, Amazon's Appstore for Android, the Windows Phone Marketplace, and in versions for Mac and Windows - yesterday, the title is available in two versions for iOS devices, both regular for iPhone/iPod touch, and HD for the iPad.

Angry Birds Star Wars has been released, the latest installment of Rovio's best-selling fling 'em franchise, this time with a tie-in to the perennially popular LucasArts movie series. Available across multiple platforms - iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, Mac, Windows, and even Windows Phone from day one - and in both SD and HD versions on select devices, the new game borrows the gravity effects from Angry Birds Space but gives the birds themselves Jedi-style powers.
