We've arrived at another Friday evening, which means that the weekend lies ahead. Today, as many of you probably already know, was the one-year anniversary of the passing of Steve Jobs. Apple paid tribute to Jobs in a new video released today, and it was announced that three modified MacBook Pros will be auctioned off in memory of Jobs. On the lighter side of things, Lenovo is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the ThinkPad with a look back through time, and Samsung's profits for Q3 2013 managed to break company records (not an easy thing to do, considering how popular Samsung is). Rovio teases Star Wars-themed Angry Birds sequel

Finnish based Holiday Club to build Angry Birds Activity Parks

If you're a fan of Angry Birds video games, a company that owns several resort hotels in Finland is set to construct a series of Angry Birds Activity Parks at three hotels. The first of the three activity Parks based on the Angry Birds video game will be a year-round indoor activity park. The park will be completed in Kuusamon Tropiikki by Christmas of 2012. Bad Piggies hits number 1 after just 3 hours

Rovio's latest creation, Bad Piggies, released today, and in just three hours the new game is at the number one spot in the iTunes App Store. The Finland-based game developing company released the Angry Birds spinoff earlier today, and it seems that fans are already eating it up, especially since the game released early in the day on a school and work day. Bad Piggies, the much-anticipated follow up to Angry Birds from developer Rovio, has been released, available across multiple smartphone and desktop platforms. Themed around helping the Bad Piggies build a flying machine and pilot it to steel the Angry Birds' eggs, the game offers over 60 levels in its initial release, and with the prospect of a further 30 levels if they do well. Welcome to Monday evening, folks. Today, we entered the final few days before the iPhone 5 releases, and we found out that the device has netted 2 million pre-orders in its first 24 hours of availability. Some of those same pre-orders began shipping out from China over the weekend, and AT&T is claiming that the iPhone 5 is the most successful iPhone launch ever, which everyone could have probably already guessed. We take a look at the iPhone 5's already astounding success, while Samsung was busy comparing the iPhone 5 to the Galaxy S III in a new ad that was rolled out over the weekend. Read The Full Story

The folks at Rovio have been hard at work on a sequel for the mega-popular Angry Birds franchise, here turning the whole world upside-down with Bad Piggies. This sequel to the Angry Birds original will have the mechanics of the game changed just a bit, with the Pigs being the center of attention instead of the Birds whom, up until now, where the ones you were tossing at the enemies - those being the Pigs. Queen frontman turns Freddie Birdcury for hit app promo

Queen is certainly one of the best-selling and most famous rock bands of all time. Queen frontman Freddie Mercury is making the jump to a digital Angry Bird as part of the Freddie for a Day promotion. The promotion is in celebration of Freddie Mercury's birthday, September 5. Angry Birds Seasons getting a new pink-feathered character

Rovio has introduced a new character for Angry Birds Seasons, a pink-feathered fowl who apparently likes to blow bubbles. This new bird, named simply "Pink Bird," will be debuting in a new update for the immensely popular game. Alas, we don't know when the update is scheduled to land, but with Rovio giving the update the title of "Back to School," it seems it should be arriving before long. Read The Full Story

Rovio hints at potential level editor coming to Angry Birds

Rovio recently gave us a big hint on the Angry Birds Facebook page that a level editor could be coming soon to the game. The Facebook post showed an image of a green pig with building blocks surrounding it, and the pig having thought bubbles illustrating how the blocks might be put together. The new rumor comes just a few weeks after reports surfaced of a new version of Angry Birds that would let users change sides and play as the green pigs. Read The Full Story

Samsung confirms Angry Birds TV app plans

Samsung and Rovio are going after a couple different segments of the population - those who own an Internet-connected Samsung TV and have somehow managed to never play Angry Birds, and those who own an Internet-connected Samsung TV and cannot get enough Angry Birds. Given that the former consists of people who have never downloaded Angry Birds on their phone or tablet, and never downloaded it onto a game console, it's the latter category that is probably the bigger chunk here.
