Vizio has long been known for its budget-friendly TVs and now they’ve entered the tablet market with their very first Android slate that’s similarly affordable. It quietly hit the market recently for $349. Given its lower-end target, the Vizio Tablet obviously isn’t competing for the most cutting-edge specs, but instead offers more functionality for the everyday consumer, packing in some rather unique features.
You have to be a pretty special device to get all the features the PHOTON 4G has yet still come with a kickstand. You’ll see what I mean as we go over everything this device offers. From being a powerful dual-core phone to all the accessories, this one is aiming right for the Atrix. The Motorola PHOTON 4G was announced back in June and we were live in NYC for some hands-on time while it was on display. AT&T had some good news today for its Android phone customers who have been eagerly awaiting a platform update. The carrier confirmed that all of its 2011 Android handsets will soon be getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which has so far only been available on the recently launched HTC Status. The updates, however, will not be rolled out altogether, with one kicking off today and others within the coming weeks.

In my possession I have HTC’s latest attempt at a slider. This here is the myTouch 4G Slide running over on T-Mobile with those super fast 4G speeds. It takes everything you liked about the myTouch 4G and adds those few features we liked in the 3G slide and poof — we have the myTouch 4G Slide. This bad boy has a dual-core 1.2 Ghz CPU and a slide out QWERTY keyboard to keep you all busy. I must admit though, the camera is pretty neat too. Head on past the break for more details!
The Comcast Xfinity TV app has been available to the iOS platform since last year, offering Xfinity TV customers the ability to turn their iPads into giant TV remotes. I’ve had the Samsung Exhibit 4G for a week or so now and I’ve actually been using it more than I thought I would. We mentioned the Exhibit 4G coming to T-Mobile back in June then I eventually got my hands on it for a little unboxing. What I’ve had the pleasure of working with today is a neat new phone for T-Mobile called the Samsung Exhibit 4G. We have mentioned this device in the past but today we have a little hands-on time to show you this little thing of joy. Apparently I’m colorblind and call it pink in the video but it’s more of a purple-violet color. What Samsung has delivered is a great mid-range Android phone for those that don’t need the best and today I’ll show you why.
The HTC EVO and its chanting followers is something we rarely see in the smartphone industry, back when it launched it had a very quick rise to fame. I mean it had that huge 4.3″ screen that made all the other phones around look tiny, it had 4G and it was fast. I can see why everyone fell in love with the original EVO and why its still selling like hot cakes, it is a sweet phone. So you love the idea of your new smartphone being able to have some 3D capabilities — your android smartphone that is, but you don’t know if you’ll actually like it and if you do, you don’t know what one to buy. Verizon’s XPERIA Play, the CDMA version of Sony Ericsson’s gaming smartphone, has just dropped onto the SlashGear test bench, which means it’s time to see whether physical game controls are enough to win a slice of the Android market. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Play, of course; we reviewed the original GSM version, on sale in Europe for a couple of months now, back in March. Question is, has Sony Ericsson’s gaming ecosystem caught up with the XPERIA Play’s promise?
