GEAR4 is back with another awesome iOS accessory and has just announced their Renew SleepClock will be hitting Apple’s retail stores in the US starting in March for just $199. Their alarm clock offers a few unique and special features that make that price seem not so high. They’ve added two sensors for monitoring breathing and movement, allowing the free iOS app to log sleep cycles.

The Renew SleepClock uses a non-contact sensor (as in no watches, or wristbands) to measure your breathing rates and movements. It knows when users are asleep and will measure your patterns and wake you up and the perfect moment. The SleepClock will pick the lightest moment in the users sleep cycle to alarm — making for a more relaxed wake period that will leave you alert and refreshed in the morning. No more needing 3 cups of coffee to start your day.

Their app will monitor patterns and you can check to see how well you are/aren’t sleeping at night. You can check these stats by the day or week and even compare against other SleekClock users. GEAR4 offers fading playlists to put you to sleep, and multiple settings for the alarm chime come morning. With sounds from the radio, iPod playlists, or even gentle and calming sounds are all available.

I am not a fan of alarm clocks. The shrill alarm is very annoying and my wife never ceases to jump and freak out when the alarm starts beeping all the sudden. Waking to the radio is a bit better, but it never ceases to lose the signal and wake me to white noise that is easy to sleep though. Mostly I wake to one of the tones on my iPhone and that works well enough.

If you are the sort that needs an alternative means of waking from your clock what you need is the Alternative alarm clock. This is a design concept from designer Ki Hyun Kim. This clock looks like a plain old clock on the front, but has two of those strange looking Euro AC outlets on the top. The outlets allow the clock to act like an extension cord and they will turn on whatever you plug into them when the alarm goes off.

This allows you to wake to whatever it is that gets you going in the morning. You can wake to a lamp, coffee maker, or whatever you want. It’s an interesting design, but I wouldn’t want to have to look at a couple of cords running across my nightstand all the time. I think I will stick to my iPhone.

Moshi makes some really cool alarm clocks. The coolest thing about them is that they have voice recognition tech inside that allows you to manage and control all of the clock functions using your voice. That means rather than pressing buttons repeatedly to turn alarms on and off or set time you can just tell the clock what time it is.

Moshi has rolled out a new alarm clock with its voice recognition tech inside called the Moshi Reflection Clock. The clock can give you the temperature inside and outside and it has dual alarms. Your voice can set the time, alarms, and snooze. These clocks are perfect for people that have vision issues that make working normal clocks difficult.

The clock can be used as a nightlight too with six colors to choose from and it gets power from three AAA batteries. An external wireless sensor allows the clock to give the outside temperature. The clock is available right now at Brookstone for $59.95.

The transition from Daylight Savings Time over the weekend has prompted iPhone headaches, with the Apple smartphone’s alarm app apparently ignoring the hour’s difference despite the clock showing the correct time. Complaints are already flooding Twitter, as confused iPhone owners find their alarms going off an hour late (giving them double that precious extra sixty minutes of Monday sleep we only get once a year).

The issue seems to be an iOS 4 one, which means anybody still running iOS 3.x should have no problems getting up on time. Some iOS 4.1 owners have also reported having no issues. Apple is yet to comment on the issue, but we’re guessing there will be engineers adding another bug to the to-do list.

The concept of an alarm clock on wheels that would attempt to escape your bleary-eyed grasp every morning never struck us as particularly appealing, but obviously enough people bought a Clocky for its successor, the Tocky, to be green-lighted. As before, the clock can jump off your bedside table and try to roll away; what’s new is the fact it can be programmed with a voice clip or MP3 to blare at you too.

Video demo after the cut

An integrated microphone allows you to set whatever voice message you want to be woken by – might we suggest “quick, the house is on fire!” in a suitably breathless, husky voice – or alternatively you can drop a handful of music on instead. Touch-sensitive controls will likely prove tricky to find come the morning, while the whole thing is wrapped in a silicone casing to prevent scratches and scrapes.

This sort of frustration can be yours for just £69.99 ($110), which is admittedly a lot cheaper than a toddler. It comes with a USB cable to load up to two hours of MP3s onto its internal storage.

Blasted with the undeniable power of sound. You’ve seen Back to the Future, yes? Do you recall the beginning of that 1985 classic, the part where Marty plays a single chord on the amplifier taller than he was? Remember how he was shot directly to the other side of the room? That’s what’s going on here, going on with alarm clocks. The company known as Sonic Alert presents three alarm clocks capable of punishing your eardrums with 113 decibels of sound – that’s enough to wake you up from just about any amount of knocked out.

Take your pick from Sonic Bomb™, The Skull™, or of course, Sweetheart™. All three do basically the same thing, that being blasting you with more noise than anyone could possibly sleep through, plus they come with a bed shaker. Called Super Shaker™ for two of the alarms and Bone Crusher™ for the other (guess which one), there is no way in the world you’d ever have trouble waking up in the morning ever again. Why? Not necessarily because you’re getting shaken up with a vibrating bed and ripped apart by sound, but because you’ve experienced that terror and never want to go through it again. It’s a real brain game.

Each of these clocks is available for purchase at Sonic Alert’s surprisingly blandly designed site. Also I should mention that if you’ve survived the morning wakeup, you can use the alarm as regular music player amplifier for some Enya to calm back down your nerves.

While some alarm clocks out there may use “out of the box” ideas to wake you up, some of them like to keep it simple. The Altaz Internet Clock radio may feature plenty of extras in the package, but at its core it’s still just a clock. Fortunately, though, if you do happen to wake up on the wrong side of the bed, hopefully you’ll be able to lighten the mood with your favorite pictures displayed right there for you, or maybe the weather forecast for the day. Either way, the Internet Clock Radio has the power to try and give you what you want.

The new Internet Clock radio allows for you to interact with it via a 3.5-inch touchscreen display. You’ll be able to access photos from Flickr, as well as get a full weather forecast when you need it. The radio will also let you play music, watch videos, and access “all the Internet has to offer.” The result is “endless entertainment while serving as a source of information that users will find both enjoyable and useful.” The clock also features an SD card reader, integrated WiFi, and a built-in battery. You can find it on Amazon right now for an MSRP of $99.

For some, having the perfect alarm clock is essential to their day-to-day livelihood. If the alarm clock doesn’t work, and they can’t wake up in time for an important date, it can ruin a whole day. And while there are some out there that may make it harder to wake up, this new design concept is designed to make it almost impossible for you to stay asleep. Unless you like getting hit in the head by a projectile object.

The Aphelion concept clock is just a concept design right now, but considering how practical and helpful it could potentially be, we could see this design getting picked up by some manufacturer out there. It’s designed to not necessarily throw the ball at your face, but it does indeed throw the ball away from the clock. And once it does, the alarm sounds. There’s no way for you to hit the snooze button, so you’ll have to get up out of bed, and return the ball to its resting place if you want the alarm to quiet.

Sure, you could just rip the alarm clock out of the wall, but if that’s an option, you’re probably already doing that with your alarm clock right now. Other features on the clock are pretty standard: a big display, telling you the time, as well as a Radio function, and connectivity options for your MP3 player. While we don’t imagine that many people will aim the clock to let the ball hit them in the face, there’s a chance that a heavy sleeper out there needs this kind of stimulus to get out of bed.

When you think of an alarm clock, you think of a simple system that does pretty much one thing: tell you what time it is. The Soft Touch alarm clock takes things to a whole new level, though, and does quite a bit more. Specifically designed for the hearing impaired, the Soft Touch is a system that not only tells you the time, and looks good doing it, but also alerts owners of impending danger.

The Soft Touch is a concept design created by a whole team of designers out of the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. The alarm clock itself is integrated with sensors that are designed to inform the owner of any danger that may be around, such as fire. It does this, by utilizing an inflatable wristband with its own digital display. When the alarm clock has a notification of any sort (like a phone call, for example), not only will the display inform the owner of what the notification is, but it will also literally squeeze around the wrist of the wearer.

The sensors on the wristband can also be linked to other household gadgets, like your fire alarm, or the doorbell. The notification system works the same way, and will always keep the user in the know, when something is happening. Unfortunately, this is just in the concept stage, but hopefully that changes soon.

There has to be a fine line between our alarm clocks getting smarter. Or, maybe not smarter, but rather easier to control. Because, we don’t know about you, but the only way our alarm clock wakes us up, is if we have to get out of bed to turn it off. Then again, there has to be something said about an alarm clock we can talk to. And, even better, that does what we tell it to do. We love our voice commands, after all.

We’d tell you to meet Moshi, but you already have. In another form, of course. And this new version, the Voice Control Digital Clock Radio, which has more features than the previous version. However, you still say “Hello Moshi,” to activate it, which we think is pretty cool. It’s not often we get to introduce ourselves (and it make sense) to our gadgets. Once you activate it, Moshi will recognize 11 different voice commands, which include setting the time, activating the radio, and setting the alarm.

It works on Technology That Listens, which is a cute little name for a technology that makes gadgets accept voice commands. And yes, you can tell your clock to snooze, but, like we said, that probably means there’s going to be a lot more missed meetings out there. If you’re interested, you can pick up the Moshi Voice Control Digital Clock Radio right now for $69.99.

Alarm clocks haven’t seen much in the way of excitement since the Goblin Teasmade, but that’s all changed with the debut of the Dynamically Programmable Alarm Clock (DPAC). The DIY handiwork of a group of electric engineering students at Northeastern University, the clock is capable of checking your Google Calendar, working out what time you need to be up in order to complete your first task or attend your first appointment, and then setting the alarm intelligently. Meanwhile there’s also home automation and more.

The DPAC is capable of controlling various X10 home automation devices, switching lights and other devices, but you could feasibly have it turn on the hot water heater half an hour before it had decided you needed to get up. That way, no matter how early or late you rise, there’ll always be enough hot water for a shower.

The UI shows the next alarm time and type, any currently playing media, weather, temperature and the current time in an extra large font, and everything is controlled via four simple buttons. Prototyping was done on an Arduino, and there’s also iPod integration, an FM radio and an accompanying web interface which can also be used to program and manage everything. We’ve a feeling people would pay for something like this, and we’re hoping the team – which won first prize for their efforts – look into commercialising it.

While showing admirable recycling motivation, sticking a clock inside an old coffee can isn’t enough to impress us; Instructables member florinc makes the grade because his DIY IllyClock adds in some color magic too. Based on a Wiseduino – an Arduino clone with an integrated real-time clock – and an LED shield, the clock lights up its numerals in different shades depending on the time of day.

Video demo after the cut

Three hours before the alarm is set to go off, the numerals change from green to orange. Then, an hour before it’s due, they switch to red. The idea is that you can squint at the alarm clock in the night and tell roughly how much time you have left in bed without actually needing to decipher the actual time.

If you’re short-sighted then that could be a particularly handy feature. The Instructable is seemingly based on this previous IllyClock, as shown in the video below.

Sonic Alert has an analog alarm clock called Sonic Boom Analog Alarm clock that promises to make it easy to wake up in the morning. The clock is analog and looks like something from the time before digital clocks. The thing has no AM or PM setting to mess with and the alarm has 113dB to wake you.

The clock face has a blue back light that flashes when the alarm is going off and the clock acts as a night light as well. If the loud alarm isn’t enough to wake you the clock also has a bed shaker. The clock sells for $42.95.

If you are the type who has a hard time waking up to a dark and cold room each morning, Philips may have a great alarm clock for you. The company has unveiled the HF3490 and HF3480 Wake-up Light alarm clocks. These clocks have music and wake you to a simulated natural sunrise as well.

Philips uses a large light box that simulates a natural sunrise with light that gradually comes on starting 30 minutes before your alarm is set to go off. Philips claims the clocks are clinically proven to have an impact on the quality of awakening. After the 30-minute light period, the device can wake you to sounds or music.

Sounds the devices offer include chirping birds, gentle beep, African jungle sounds, or soft chimes. The iPod version of the device can wake you to FM radio or playlists from your iPod as well. Both versions have the FM tuner. Both versions are available now for $169.99 for the HF3480 and $199.99 for the HF3490.

I’m not sure what gives with all the iPhone alarm clocks/speaker docks that have turned up this week. All of the sudden there is a plethora of them hitting the market. Today Yamaha unveiled a couple iPhone/iPod docks of its own called the TSX-70 and the TSX-W80.

The TSX-70 is the more basic of the two and has an old school design that looks like something out of the 1950′s to me. The dock is compact and designed to sit at the bedside. It will be offered in white, brown, and blue colors and has an integrated subwoofer. The device has 4W of power for each satellite and 8W for the sub along with an integrated AM/FM tuner and more.

The TSX-W80 is the most interesting of the pair and has a wireless dock that can stream music from your iPod to the speaker dock allowing you to keep the iPhone close to view album art. Other than the wireless dock the specs are pretty much the same as the TSX-70 with an AM/FM tuner and alarm functions. A wireless sub is available for both units. Pricing is unknown as is availability outside of Japan.

I am betting there is more than one home out there with multiple iPods or iPhones that are fighting for the coveted dock space on the bedside alarm clock. If your home is one of these battlegrounds, iHome has a slick new dual dock alarm clock that will force a truce. The product is called the iP88 Dual docking Station for iPhone/iPod.

The iP88 claims to be the first unit that allows users to dock or charge two iPhones at the same time and will charge other dockable iPods as well. Users can wake to a specific playlist from their device, AM/FM radio or a buzzer.

The docking station has Reson8 stereo speakers and an integrated EQ with 3D sound. The alarm clock is available for purchase now for $149.99 online and in major retail outlets. The device also includes a wireless remote and offers eight AM/FM presets.

Those methods range from buzzers and music, through vibrating pillows and flashing lights, to a “bed sheet remover”. The latter does exactly as you’d expect, whipping away the covers to bare you to the harsh elements.

Since their project was judged in terms of programming and problem-solving skills, rather than aesthetics, the end result is something more industrial than most people might like on their bedside table. Still, if the buzzers and coffee won’t wake you, perhaps the glaring red LEDs will.

Now, it’s Bang & Olufsen time, so please suspend all disbelief and reset your “it’s how much?!” shock reaction. The Danish company has unveiled its latest product, and we’ve a feeling Alyson Hannigan would approve. The BeoTime alarm clock best resembles a flute, but is actually a way to not only get you up in the morning but to control your house full of expensive B&O A/V equipment.

Three small, square displays show the time, alarm time and which source will be used to rouse you. Switching on or off the alarm is done by the trumpet-style button on one end, and tapping or touching the BeoTime activates the screen backlighting. There’s also an optional wall-bracket, to which the BeoTime magnetically clips.

Picking it up, a tilt-sensor turns the BeoTime into a remote control, with the displays now switching to indicate which source is being managed. It will function as a sleep timer, volume & channel control or lighting control, depending on what B&O kit you’ve invested in.

As you’d expect, there’s a serious sting in the tail and that’s the price. When the Bang & Olufsen BeoTime is released in August 2009, it’ll have a an MRSP of $375.

Press Release:

Bang & Olufsen introduces BeoTime alarm clock complete with system integration capabilities

Bang & Olufsen, the Danish retailer of high-end audio and video products, launches the new BeoTime – an alarm clock that is equal parts stylish and functional. In addition to its time-telling operation, BeoTime also doubles as a control for Bang & Olufsen systems in the home.

“We are excited to introduce BeoTime to the Bang & Olufsen product porfolio,” said Zean Nielsen, President of Bang & Olufsen America. “We can offer high-end products at both ends of the price spectrum – from entry level to full home entertainment systerms.”

BeoTime features a built-in sleep timer which can switch all Bang & Olufsen equipment in the room to standby after a selected time interval of up to 120 minutes – a convenient feature for those who like to stay up watching television or fall asleep to the sound of a favorite CD without having to worry about turning the music off. In addition to the alarm and sleep timer functions, you can use BeoTime for basic operation of the bedroom television, loudspeakers, or light control. BeoTime also makes a unique desk clock, ideal for one’s work or home office.

BeoTime is characterized by a high degree of convenience and ease of use. It can be held in one hand and operated with one’s thumb. Through a built-in tilt sensor, display information and button functions change orientation in accordance with how BeoTime is held, left on the nightstand, or placed in its wall bracket.

Visual identity
The designer, Steffen Schmelling, was inspired by things that reminded him of a pleasant experience in waking up, and thus he thought of Mozart’s The Magic Flute – a story with wonderful music, in which light defeats dark, and there is an inherent mix between dream and fantasy. The “flute” was an obvious design choice to represent such surreal disposition.

BeoTime is a beautifully anodised and polished aluminium tube, with a trumpet-shaped button that protrudes from one end when the alarm is activated. The button clicks in and out when pressed (reminiscent of a classic alarm clock) and is used to switch the alarm on and off. At the other end of the tube, a cover conceals the battery compartment for three batteries with a life of approximately one-year. Two rubber feet, one at each end of the tube, keep BeoTime steady when placed on a table surface. For wall-mounting, BeoTime rests in an almost invisible magnetic wall bracket.

Menu navigation is done with the main square button in the center of the unit. Three separate square displays, which feature dark text on a bright background, show the present time, alarm time, and wake-up source (alarm chime versus audio system). The current time is always visible, and because of a built-in motion sensor, the display backlight is activated by a simple touch, e.g. to check the time during the night.

BeoTime will be available at all Bang & Olufsen showrooms August 2009. MSRP $375.00.

[Thanks Sarah!]

This gizmo is meant for the deep sleepers among us–the ones for which a standard buzzing alarm won’t do. Instead, this thing will shake your bed with vibration while it buzzes or plays music to wake you up.

It has an LCD screen, a 3.5mm jack, an iPod/iPhone dock, FM radio and more. It will also charge your iPod overnight. Available in July in blue, white, pink and black color options, the iLuv iMM153 Dual Alarm Clock will cost you $59.99.

Waking up in the morning is hard for a lot of people but nothing makes it more intolerable than that incessant buzzing of your typical alarm clock. But the Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock is designed to wake you up in a decidedly proper, stereotypically British sort of way.

Made by Hammacher Schlemmer, this alarm clock features the voice of Reginald Jeeves, the character played by Stephen Fry from the TV show Jeeves and Wooster. So, instead of annoying beeps and buzzes and even the boring sounds of pop radio to help you rise and shine, Jeeves will simply implore you by saying, “Excuse me sir, I’m so sorry to disturb you, but it appears to be morning. Very inconvenient, I agree. I believe it is the rotation of the Earth that is to blame, sir.” And so on.

Apparently, there are even amusing tidbits to be offered when you hit the snooze button, like “Sir has a firm touch, but fair.” The Infallibly Polite Speaking Alarm Clock comes with 126 messages and will cost you $99.95.

Apparently it normally only takes a couple of shakes to wake you, and if you’re a sturdier sleeper then you can set multiple alarms. The vibrations are strong enough to notice them when your head is on the pillow, but not so powerful as to shake the bed halfway across the room. That would rather spoil the whole thing.

An added benefit is that deaf people can use the Vessel alarm. It uses six AA batteries but sadly looks to be Japan-only at present.

iLuv have officially announced their latest internet radio, the iLuv iNT170, with access to 15,000 radio stations and podcasts, twin 2.5W stereo speakers and WiFi. The iNT170 has a large, dimmable monochrome display, FM radio and a dual-alarm digital clock; it can also be used with your iPod or other PMP, thanks to a 3.5mm line-in socket.

There’s space for either 40 or 16 station presets, depending on whether you go by the press release or the product page - either way they’re split equally between FM and internet channels – and a remote control. The clock automatically sets itself via your internet connection; there’s no word, though, on UPnP media streaming of audio files across your network.

The iLuv iNT170 is available now, priced at $199.99. We’re chasing up confirmation on the number of presets, and will update once we have a definite answer.

Update: iLuv tell us that there are 40 presets, twenty each for internet and FM radio stations, and that the iNT170 is only capable of playing internet radio, not UPnP streaming across your network. Unless you particularly want two alarms built into your WiFi streamer, we’d probably suggest taking your $200 elsewhere – this is just too expensive for what you get.

I just can’t help it. I like my sleep. But when you absolutely must get up, one of the best ways to force yourself out of bed is to place the alarm clock across the room. But for those that don’t feel like tripping over shoes while stumbling to shut the thing off, there’s the Hanging Alarm Clock.

Apparently, the alarm clock hangs to your ceiling by a cable, and when it’s goes off, it will wind up the cable like a yo-yo and continue to wail. It will actually sit up at your ceiling and continue beeping until you stand up and grab it.

Call me crazy, but isn’t this going to require a step-stool or something? That’s just what people need to do: climb on furniture while in the haze of sleep. But in all seriousness, you can hit snooze by pressing the button on the top before it reaches the ceiling. However, you will have to shut the device off all the way or else it will start its ascent once more. The alarm apparently is in the sound of a siren and shines a bright white light. Fun? You can get the Hanging Alarm Clock now for $29.50.

If you’re interested in a truly unique alarm clock, then you might just have to consider the Moshi IVR Alarm Clock. This thing features TimeSet technology, which lets you set the time just by talking to the clock. Pretty cool, huh?

So, all you do to start this is to say the words, “Hello Moshi.” The clock will respond to you and say “Command Please.” Next, you speak one of the twelve Voice Activated Commands to get the clock to perform a particular function. Sounds easy enough for me.

The IVR technology uses Neutral Net and HMM Phonetic Speaker Independent Recognition software in combination. This makes for accurate vocabulary recognition and the ability to recognize numerous accents. Other features include continuous phrase and word spotting work. It will cost $49.99 and at the very least would make for a great novelty gift.

Okay, it seems like no one really knows a lot about this cute alarm clock, but if you’re a diehard arcade game fan, then this Space Invaders Alarm Clock is quite simply a no brainer purchase.

Made by Taito, the original makers of Space Invaders, this alarm clock acts pretty much like your standard alarm clock. In fact, it sports a digital clock, snooze button, and a calendar. It also has flashing lights and plays sounds from the actual game. Sounds pretty cool to me!

But the price tag does make one raise their eyebrows. Paying $79 for an alarm clock is enough to make you hope this thing fires lasers or, at the very least, let’s you play a round of the old arcade game!

But the Aurora Color Changing Clock is a vibrant way to know what time it is and add a touch of style to your home.

The Aurora Color Changing Clock has a LCD display that is much larger than standard and makes it super easy to see it from across a larger space. However, if you’re willing to set to mind 12 different colors that correspond with the 12 numeric hours of the day and night, you can just glance at the clock, note the color, and understand what time it is.

What’s cool is the clock cycles through these different colors slowly over each hour, so you always have a different-looking alarm clock. The clock also features a clear rubber housing. You can touch the lack to turn the light on or off and the alarm function makes it flash along with play a sound. You can get the Aurora Color Changing Clock for $26.

But the Money-Saving BanClock literally puts price on snooze.

This alarm clock makes you insert a coin into it before you can turn it off or hit snooze. Apparently, you can save up a pretty penny this way, and the alarm clock will hold up to $25 in quarters. However, I can’t imagine anyone willingly doing this each and every morning.

I mean, I would seriously start to resent this thing after awhile, wouldn’t you?

You set the alarm just as you would with any other. But 30 minutes before it is to go off, the light will turn on very dim. Over the next 30 minutes, it will brighten more and more until it reaches full brightness. This gradual increase in brilliance is meant to imitate the sun’s rise.

By the time the light is fully on, you will wake up. This way of awakening is much more gradual and makes it so you’re more alert upon rising. Built-in sounds are included as well so you can wake up to a running spring or singing birds.

There are all sorts of alarm clocks out there meant to wake you up with loud buzzers or what have you, but never have I seen one that interacts with other devices to thoroughly ensure you get out of bed. The Room Tech Beingz Alarm Clock makes all the sounds but the Mood Lamp (on the right) will also get involved if you fail to get up.

It works like this. When the alarm goes off, the little guy lights up its feet, opens its jaw and sends out a bunch of noises. It also beats its arms on the table.

If you still haven’t arisen, the alarm clock will send a signal to the Mood Lamp, which will then light up to its full brightness. So, you have a stomping, chirping alarm clock and a bright lamp trying to awake you from slumber. Plus, the clock and lamp themselves are pretty interesting looking. You can get the pair for $80.

We’ve all seen those sound effect alarm clocks that are meant to act as white noise or to lull you to sleep with sounds of the rainforest. But the Osim Nioi Alarm Clock is taking the art of inducing sleepiness out of the auditory arena and into the realm of smell.

Designer Alfie Lake has developed this scent-focused alarm system that wakes you up with different smells as opposed to a loud, obnoxious noise. It includes three slots that you can load with different scent cartridges.

The interesting part is you can assign different smells to different situations. For instance, when you’re trying to go to sleep, a mild lavender scent can help you drift off to catch some ZZZ’s. But when it’s time to wake up, the scent of freshly baked bread is sure to rouse you from slumber. And make you hungry.

But have you seen an iPod dock/alarm that rotates to accommodate the screen of your iPod Touch? Yeah, I don’t think I have, either.

But that’s precisely what the iHome iH41 does. Its L-shaped design allows the dock to rotate to accommodate both vertical and horizontal viewing modes on the iPod Touch. And you know what’s even cooler? The digital clock orientates itself depending on how the device is rotated. Neat, huh?

The iHome iH41 will charge your iPod Touch and play your music or videos. It might look great right on your nightstand or maybe on your desk. Regardless, it features a built in speaker and a remote control. The iH41 will set you back $80.

Every three minutes after it goes off, if you don’t shut it off, it will make random phone calls from your cellphone. That’s right, have a number you’re hanging onto for sentimental reasons but would never call, it may get dialed.

Even worse is if you happen to wake up someone that wasn’t ready to be awake yet. I’m fairly sure that this would be extremely effective to have you bolting to shut it off in time. This is still a concept design though, so the world is safe for the moment. It was created by Alice Wang.

Now, if you’re just one who will go on sleeping through the alarm this clock likely won’t help you out much. The ones that just have that tendency to wakeup enough to turn the alarm off and go back to sleep will find this extremely beneficial though.

To make the alarm stop beeping you have to unplug the cord that matches the colored light. Which will turn on as soon as the alarm goes off. It will cost you $59.99.

It has a 7-inch screen and what looks like a separate screen that is just for the alarm clock. It has card slots for SD/SDHC/MMC/MS-Pro Duo/CF memory cards from which it can play MP3 files, display pictures, or play AVI or M-JPEG movies.

This thing may only be $149, but it could be the worst $149 if you wake up in a bad mood one morning and throw the thing against the wall. I know I have a tendency to do just that, that’s why I found some place close that always has some alarm clock for under $10.

There is a little red gentleman on the top of the alarm clock holding the target and then there is a Star Trek styled laser pointer that you have to shoot the center of the target with. Sure, it sounds simple, but early in the morning even getting out of bed is a chore.

If you still want one, or if you know someone that continually hits the snooze button that really needs one, it is any actual product and you can have one. Sadly though, I couldn’t find anywhere that was actually selling them, and I couldn’t find a price either.
