Guitar Hero 5 is set to be the first Wii game to offer full loading from SD card, with Activision promising SDHC streaming for the upcoming music title. IGN sat down with the team to discuss the change, which will see over 800 songs together with audio quality, note data, album art, and any mo-cap triggers or song-specific displays fitting on a 32GB SD card.
Activision have been showing off their latest peripheral, and this time they've set their sights on your pocket. Set to be included with every purchase of Band Hero DS, the upcoming musical game for Nintendo's clamshell console, the Band Hero DS Drum Grip is a rubberized silicon sleeve that fits over the DS Lite.
Hot on the heels of Logitech's Guitar Hero drum kit, unveiled yesterday, come the first images of the official redesigned Guitar Hero 5 set. No details are accompanying the two images, but Activision have released a new video showing gameplay in the upcoming title.

Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer has struck back at Activision chief Bobby Kotick, claiming his calls to cut PS3 prices are "a lot of noise" and that there's no "logic" in discounting the console. Speaking to Reuters, Stringer suggested that "I (would) lose money on every PlayStation I make - how's that for logic."
Game developer Activision have set their sights on bringing Sony down a peg or two, threatening to cease development for the PS3 and PSP consoles if the company does not reduce royalty fees. CEO Bobby Kotick has accused Sony of "losing a bit of momentum" and complained that the company does not "make it easy for me to support the [PlayStation 3] platform". Kotick is now asking for a PS3 hardware price-cut.
I've questioned the logic behind Activision's choice to call Guitar Hero III “Legends of Rock” due to the lack of actual legends. This has become even more apparent with all of the rock legends showing up in the fourth installment of the game. We've found out that yet another huge name will be appearing as a character in GH:WT, none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osborne.
Since the second Guitar Hero title was announced, it has been a habit to slowly trickle out songs until very close to the game's release date. This usually brings about much speculation and many fake lists. Well today we've got a few more confirmed tracks thanks to Stuff Magazine. Hit the jump for a full list of confirmed tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour.
I must say that I'm impressed by Activision. They have announced yet another track pack for Guitar Hero III. Granted, it won't be out until next month, but it's definitely good to see that they haven't given up on DLC. So what could possibly follow up the Virtuoso Pack? Apparently only a trio of Dragonforce tracks.
