The ability to record phonecalls is pretty standard on cellphones these days, though it's arguably one of the less-commonly-used functions out there.  So we're a little bemused by the Celltronix VR1 Recordable Bluetooth Headset; as well as supporting Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with multipoint for dual simultaneous connections, it can record up to 8 minutes of your conversation.

The pictures here really speak for themselves: Elecom have launched a set of LEGO-themed headphones, the PLAYBRICK EHP-CIN40, and if you've never quite been able to give up your childhood addiction with plastic building blocks then you're bound to find these appealing.  Supplied with four different earbud sizes, Elecom are even going so far as to suggest that sound quality is decent, though we'd believe that when we heard it.

Arriving top of the “you mean we didn’t already have an adapter for that?” list is Atlona’s DVI to Mini DisplayPort Converter.  The unassuming box sucks up your dual-link DVI input – such as from earlier MacBooks or many existing notebooks on the market – and then squirts it out via the new, compact connector increasingly featuring on high-end displays.

Sony Ericsson promised to revolutionise personal audio, and while that’s so loaded with PR hyperbole we’d normally just throw any subsequent press release straight out of the window, it turns out their Motion Activated MH907 headphones are pretty nifty.  The stereo headset is the first to use SensMe, where capacitive sensors in each earbud can track whether they’re in your ears or not, and remotely control your cellphone accordingly.

Nitrox didn’t just bring along their latest Bluetooth devices for us to look at today; they also had a new leather battery-case for the iPhone 3G.  Like the Mophie Juice Pack that we rate so highly, the Nitrox iconn+ promises to roughly runtime thanks to its integrated 1,200mAh Li-Ion battery; however unlike the Mophie, the iconn+ has a flap-down leather cover that protects the smartphone’s display.

There’s a compact band of loyal headphone-amp users who swear by the audio-tastic qualities of some external amplification, so it comes as no great surprise that manufacturer Fiio are attempting to jump onto the iPod gravy-train.  The Fiio E1 plugs directly into the docking connector of an iPod or iPhone and not only offers in-line remote controls but the sort of headphone boost that can drive high-end cans or simply help more mainstream models shine.

Ever been at the beach and realized that your cell phone was about to die? Ever been at the beach, noticed that your cell phone was about to die, and cared? External hard drives are almost a necessity at this point, even as the hard drives in our laptops and our desktops get bigger. Securing those hard drives is a big deal, and it’s good to see companies like WD taking a big step forward in keeping their products secure with features like encryption, and WD’s SmartWare software. And today marks the introduction of WD’s new, safer, sleeker, and smaller My Passport lines for PC and Mac.
