Four capacities will be available initially – 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB – with each supporting the Windows 7 TRIM command, for reduced boot times, and, at the controller level, static wear-leveling technology.

Connectivity includes both SATA II and mini-USB, making the ADATA S596 Turbo suitable for both internal and external use (the former using a 3.5-inch drive bay converter), with a brushed aluminum chassis. No word on pricing at this stage.

Press Release:

ADATA introduces S596 Turbo, the First JMF616 SSD on Earth
Drastically boosts the Speed and Stability

Taipei, Taiwan – July 19, 2010 –ADATA Technology Co., Ltd., the worldwide leader in DRAM memory and Flash application products, today introduced S596 Turbo, the first Solid State Drive (SSD) using JMicron JMF616 controller on earth. Not only has the speed of S596 promoted, the stability has also strengthened. The ADATA S596 Turbo leads the SSD industry into a whole new era.

Flexible Dual Interface
In terms of the interface, the ADATA S596 Turbo equips SATA II and mini-USB dual interface, providing greater convenience and flexibility. The SSD can be used either as an external portable storage, or as an installed disk in laptop. Furthermore, with a 3.5” converter, the S596 Turbo can be installed in desktop PC. The brushed aluminum chassis of the S596 Turbo is designed for fast heat dissipation, while bringing impressive elegant demeanor.

JMicron JMF616, the Next-generation Controller Chip
In addition to the DDR2 128M cache buffer, the S596 Turbo utilizes next-generation controller, providing read speed up to 260MB per second, while write speed up to 210MB/S, which is 20 % higher than its former model S596. The firmware supports Windows 7 TRIM command, which significantly shortens the boot-up time. In addition, because of the new controller, the stability of S596 Turbo is largely raised, ridding users of sudden standstill during data transmission. The S596 Turbo supports Static wear-leveling technology, which extends the SSD’s life. The S596 Turbo satisfies different needs with 32G / 64G / 128G / 256G storage capacity.

We all know that one of the main benefits of an SSD is that it allows your computer to boot much faster than using a traditional HDD. The SSD also allows users to access their apps faster as well. A-DATA has unveiled a new SSD that it claims to be the industry’s fastest called the S596.

The SSD offers sequential read speed of 250MB/sec and a sequential write speed of 180MB/sec. The drive also uses a DDR2 SDRAM cache buffer that allows it to boot faster than the typical SSD.

A-DATA claims that the new drive can boot a PC running Windows 7 in 20 seconds. That is a 40% improvement in boot speed compared to traditional SSDs. The SSD will be offered in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB capacities at undisclosed prices.

Press Release:

A-DATA Unveils the Industry-leading Turbo Series SDHC Class 10 Memory Card

Taipei, Taiwan – July 22, 2009 – After the exciting release of its 600X CF card at Computex 2009, A-DATA Technology Co. Ltd, the worldwide leader in DRAM module and Flash application products announced today another industry-leading memory card – Turbo series SDHC Class 10 memory card. It supports the new SD Association’s new Class 10 specification with a dramatic performance improvement in recording cameras on the market today. With high transfer rate of Class 10, the card enables digital camera users to easily capture sequential shots that used to be hard to catch due to the limitation of memory card speed.

Seize the important moment by taking every single move sequentially

Have you ever experienced the disappointment of missing an irreplaceable moment such as the first step of your child simply because your digital camera could not keep up with the act? Some consider DSLR the solution to the problem, yet the daunting price of DSLR makes it less accessible for entry-level users. With A-DATA Turbo series SDHC Class 10 performing at a transfer rate up to 22MBps on devices supporting SD v3.0, one could seize these important moments by recording every single move.

Enjoy complete satisfaction with HI-RES video shoot

Besides the revolutionary improvement on sequential photo taking, the high transfer rate of Class 10 also makes video recording possible at high resolution. No more diminished satisfaction caused by insufficient quality of video shoot with Turbo series SDHC 10. Users of digital cameras can now take high quality video at HD 1920×1080 resolution, which is impossible with the previous generation of SDHC.

Available in 16GB, the Turbo series SDHC Class 10 memory card enables digital camera users to record every memorable image and comes with a product lifetime warranty.

A-DATA Debuts the New 2.5” SATAII SSD 300 Plus

The next generation Solid State Drive with performance significantly increased

A-DATA Technology, a worldwide leader in high performance DRAM module, memory card, USB Flash Drive, and Data Storage, announced today its new 2.5” SATAII SSD 300 Plus, a next generation Solid State Drive with performance significantly increased.

Highly durable with performance dramatically enhanced

Adopting the latest breakthroughs in SSD technology and new controller design, the new 300 Plus SSD dramatically increases the performance on data-reading speed by 40% while writing by 60% at least when comparing with a regular SSD!! Unlike ordinary SSD, the new 300 Plus SSD utilizes a special mobile SDRAM to achieve a sustained read rate at 250MB/sec and write rate at 160MB/sec. The mobile SDRAM serves the function of cache buffer where frequently used data are stored so that the system does not have to fetch data from the main storage area each time it’s called.

A reliable replacement for hard disk drive

Besides being fast in data seeking, overheat worry-free, lightweight, power efficient, and complete silent, the new 2.5” SATAII SSD 300 Plus boosts system performance and enhances user experience. Available in storage capacities of 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB, the new SSD 300 Plus surely is a smart and reliable replacement for your hard disk drive with fast access and seek time combined.

A-DATA have unveiled what they’re saying is the highest-capacity SSD to-date at CeBIT this week, in the shape of the A-DATA 512GB XPG 2.5-inch SSD. The SATA-II drive supports read and write speeds of 230MB/s and 160MB/s respectively. Problem is, they’re not the only company with such a claim; SlashGear tracked down A-DATA to find out what makes the 512GB XPG different.

We pointed out to A-DATA that Toshiba announced a 512GB SSD in December last year, while pureSilicon announced a 1TB SSD at CES in January. According to A-DATA, the key differences are that the 512GB XPG has a mini-USB port and RAID functionality, which the Toshiba drive does not, and that the pureSilicon drive won’t be available until Q3 2009, so the XPG will hit the market first.

That doesn’t quite line-up with calling their SSD “the highest capacity in the industry” – perhaps “the highest capacity with USB connectivity”? – but it’s still a big drive although the Toshiba SSD is faster in both read and write speeds. We’re yet to hear an exact release date for the A-DATA 512GB XPG 2.5-inch SSD, as well as pricing.
