Minecraft: Story Mode hits PS4, Xbox One on October 13

Good news for fans of either Minecraft or the excellent narrative titles from developer Telltale Games, as the latter's Minecraft: Story Mode is now confirmed to see release on Tuesday, October 13th. While Mojang's Minecraft proper is well-known around the world, its sandbox-style gameplay means there's no real narrative for players. Telltale Games changes that, adding a detailed storyline to the universe across five episodes, much like how the developer released the critically acclaimed Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us games.

Mortal Kombat X suffers a fatality on Xbox 360, PS3

If you own one of two, or even both, previous gen consoles, don't expect to be treated to the brutal celebration of blood and gore that is Mortal Kombat X. On Warner Bros. Games' forums, yes, the same Warner Bros' whose PC port of Batman Akrham Knight has still to see a proper fix, the publisher made it official. Mortal Kombat X won't be coming anymore to the Xbox 360 or the PlayStation 3. This time, it's precisely because of quality control that they're canceling the port and issuing refunds.

Comcast pulling its Xbox 360 streaming app

Comcast pulling its Xbox 360 streaming app

Comcast has revealed it's pulling its Xfinity streaming app for the Xbox 360 console on September 1st. The ISP hasn't made it clear exactly why they're killing the app, other than stating on Twitter that they're reshuffling to make "improvements to our online experience," but it's pretty obvious it was a flop in the face of the Netflix behemoth. First launched in 2012, the Xbox 360 Xfinity app was quickly criticized, especially by Netflix, for its abuse of network neutrality, as video streamed from the app didn't count towards users' data caps.

Expand your Xbox gaming with new Chatpad, Seagate Game Drive

Gamescom this week has seen Microsoft make its biggest pitch to try and wrest the laurel away from Sony's PlayStation 4. While the jury still deliberates on whether it has succeeded or not (and some already think it has), Microsoft continues to throw more and more goodies to the gaming public. Completely optional but at the same time completely wanted, Microsoft is making available two peripherals for its Xbox consoles that extend the gaming experience almost quite literally, with a Chatpad controller plugin and a new Seagate Game Drive storage.

67-year old Schwarzenegger recreates iconic Terminator 2 bar scene

In an effort to promote his special appearance in a wrestling video game (WWE 2K16), Arnold Schwarzenegger has recreated his role as the Terminator from T2: Judgement Day. It is here that he re-enters the biker bar in the nude, demanding of a biker: "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle." Of course this biker and the rest of the patrons of the bar are all wrestlers - but that's not going to change anything, really. He'll still get the cigar jammed into his chest, and we can assume the rest of the carnage will follow.
