Fallout 4 countdown: is this just an Android game?

Fallout 4 countdown: is this just an Android game?

This morning Bethesda Softworks started the countdown to Fallout 4 - or so it would seem. Through their main Fallout portal online, they've begun a countdown not unlike what they did - in a low key manner - for both Fallout 3 and the Fallout 3 DLC Operation Anchorage. That DLC was released all the way back in 2009. Videos for these releases are attached to code inside the pages up on BethSoft right this minute. So wait a second, Bethesda Softworks, are you releasing a new game, or are you - like several companies over the past few weeks - releasing your already-completed game Fallout 3 to the mobile universe?

This system needs a 5V micro USB power supply as well as an HDMI cable if display is desired, an ethernet cable, and an 8GB micro SD card - class 10 or better. If you're good here, you're about to be good to go on your Pi 2.

You can play LEGO Minecraft right this minute

LEGO releases its own Minecraft competitor video game at long last, available on Windows PC through Steam. The game is being released with Steam Early Access first, making certain it makes an impact with the community before it makes a full-powered global launch. This sort of release is similar to what Mojang originally did with Minecraft, allowing the community to have their say before they eventually, gradually, slowly pushed it to platform after platform. This version of the LEGO Worlds game will eventually make its way to living room consoles as well.

Windows 10 arrives July 29: How much will you pay?

While the announcement of Windows 10 included word that the upgrade to this OS would be free, not every user will have that opportunity. The opportunity to attain this operating system at no cost is limited. Only those who have Windows 7 or 8.1 "Pro" editions - not those with the "Enterprise" editions - will receive this upgrade for free. This push also only exists within the first year of release of the OS. You'll want to read this fine print before you proceed to the "go" button.

Windows 10 preview build 10130: Cortana shortcut and more

Microsoft has pushed out the latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build, bringing it to build 10130. Because the builds are fairly far along at this point, they no longer bring with them big changes that add big features — rather, at this point, it’s more polishing things up and tweaking things when needed. As such, you’ll find a lot of smaller changes with build 10130, perhaps some that you were hoping would happen, including things as simple as a new shortcut for Cortana to customization of the Start experience.

Lenovo ThinkPad 10 tablet gets a second-gen update

At the Lenovo Tech World event in Beijing, Lenovo has introduced the second-generation of its ThinkPad 10 tablet and the improvements it brings with it, including a ThinkPad Pen Pro and a new Folio keyboard. The tablet looks very similar -- though not identical -- to the first-generation version (check out our review of it), but stands out in all the ways needed to (hopefully) produce a sharper, better-abled upgrade for those who are ready for a next-gen device. We've a gallery after the jump!

Microsoft reveals Cortana voice assistant is coming to iPhone, Android

Sounds like Siri is in for some competition. Over on the Windows blog, Microsoft has revealed that its own voice-powered assistant, Cortana, will be coming to iOS devices like the iPhone and iPad, as well as the Android platform. It seems that Microsoft is gearing up to have Cortana graduate from Windows-exclusivity, and exist as a cross-platform app on non-Windows devices. We were only treated to a few quick glimpses of the app in a video, but the voice assistant appears to work much like it does on the Windows Phones of today.
