Watch Dogs release date range set inside Q2 2014

This morning set deep inside Ubisoft's own Fiscal Q3 earnings report for 2013 came word of several releases for the 2014 season. While - as usual - "fiscal" quarters are set differently than non-fiscal quarters, you'll find that Ubisoft means to release Watch Dogs in their Q1, 2014's Q2, that is to say inside the months of April, May, and June. That's about as specific as they're going to get until far closer to the actual release of the game - they've likely learned their lesson on this title with announcing release dates before they can confirm they'll actually deliver.

Raving Rabbids feature-length film: Ubisoft and Sony Pictures set to helm

It would appear that the little creatures known as Rabbids - sourced from the Rayman video game series and readied for the public as their own series by Ubisoft - have secured themselves a full-length feature film deal with Sony Pictures. This film has Jean-Julien Baronnet, Executive Director, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, and Hannah Minghella, president of Production for Columbia Pictures, speaking up on the deal, letting it be known that Columbia will be working on the picture as well. This release comes after the collaborative effort between Ubisoft Motion Pictures, France Television, and Nickelodeon called "Rabbids Invasion", a television show out right this minute.

Watch Dogs pre-order cancellation a simple error: no need to freak

Watch Dogs pre-order cancellation a simple error: no need to freak

This morning a report was delivered about order cancellations for the game Watch Dogs, a title set to be delivered some time in early 2014. This game had been delayed in the past, so it would have been a relatively large deal if the game were delayed any further than it already had been. The good news is that the cancellations were due to an error in Gamestop's software, not due to the game not being deliverable on time.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PC Review

In Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag you've got a game that can be wholly enjoyed by a hardcore fan of the series just as well as a newcomer. Here you've got the roots of the beast in assassin's hood and the feined interest in surprising and sneaking around at the same time as you've got a brand new jump-in point for anyone interested in that all-encompassing childhood wish to be a pirate. Ubisoft has created a masterpiece of the modern age of relatively-open sandbox gameplay tied closely with the next-level graphics finesse afforded them by NVIDIA - every bit as spectacular as we saw in demo form earlier this year up in Montreal.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag hands-on with 4K

This week at a special event held by NVIDIA in Montreal, we got the opportunity to get some hands-on time with the near-final build of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag in 4K resolution. This experience was made real on an LG 84LM9600 4K television and was played on a monster custom gaming rig constructed by the folks at MAINGEAR - the build called "The Shift", as it were, with a set of beastly NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics cards inside.

Watch Dogs gameplay details spilled

This week we've had the opportunity to have a peek at some Watch Dogs gameplay action never before seen by the public, courtesy of Ubisoft and NVIDIA, the latter group holding a gaming event this week in Montreal. As this work has not been finalized, we've not been allowed to film it - but we can talk about it. Here you'll find the likes of an incredibly immersive gameplay system, the likes of which certainly appear to live up to the expectations set by Ubisoft laid down in the months leading up to this point in time.

Ubisoft kicks Watch Dogs release back to 2014

It would appear that the folks at Ubisoft aren't entirely ready to roll out their titles Watch Dogs and The Crew just yet, as they've pushed the titles back from the 2013-14 season to 2014-15 instead. This morning's announcement came with word that the company would also be adjusting financial targets for the coming season, owing largely to the change of dates for the two relatively large title releases.
