King’s Quest: Chapter 1 for PS3, PS4 now available

As promised, the first chapter of the reimagined King’s Quest game has arrived for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, offering a family friendly storyline that revolves around old King Graham and the stories he tells his young granddaughter, Gwendolyn. King Graham’s stories detail his own adventures from his younger days, and gamers get to play out those adventures, doing so in a game that “blends art, gameplay, and storytelling”. Old fans and new alike will enjoy the title, says The Odd Gentlemen’s founder Matt Korba.

Sony’s pico project can fight for room in your pocket

Sony’s pico project can fight for room in your pocket

Portable and tiny projectors, a.k.a. pico projectors, are nothing new, but very few will be able to boast of a slim physique while still promising unmatched quality and clarity. And yet that is exactly what Sony's MPCL1 promises to bring. Almost as big as the biggest smartphone, this pico projector offers the high resolution, portability, and brightness that very few of its kind can. And its all thanks to a well known technology called "light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation". In other words, lasers.

67-year old Schwarzenegger recreates iconic Terminator 2 bar scene

In an effort to promote his special appearance in a wrestling video game (WWE 2K16), Arnold Schwarzenegger has recreated his role as the Terminator from T2: Judgement Day. It is here that he re-enters the biker bar in the nude, demanding of a biker: "I need your clothes, your boots, and your motorcycle." Of course this biker and the rest of the patrons of the bar are all wrestlers - but that's not going to change anything, really. He'll still get the cigar jammed into his chest, and we can assume the rest of the carnage will follow.

Sony might be sticking with Snapdragon 810 for Xperia Z5

Sony might be sticking with Snapdragon 810 for Xperia Z5

Qualcomm might have found a staunch and loyal friend in Sony. If it hasn't yet, it should. Despite all the flak it received precisely because of the Snapdragon 810 processor, it seems that Sony isn't about to jump ship. At least not for some upcoming smartphones. User Agent profiles of two device lines, particularly a certain E6603 and E5803, believed to be the Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact respectively, show evidence that those two will run on the almost ill-fated chip, which is bound not to sit well with those hoping for better Sony flagship before the year ends.

Sony to launch Aerosense drone company with ZMP

With some of their core businesses not doing well, you'd think Sony would want to hunker down and focus its resources on getting those in tip-top shape first. Instead, the Japanese tech giant is spreading its wings, almost literally. Now it is getting into the unmanned aerial vehicles or UAV, more popularly known as drones. In fact, it is partnering with old friend ZMP to start a new company named "Aerosense, Inc.", to be incorporated in August, to develop and launch the ultimate spy drones.

R2-D2 themed PlayBook 4 is perfect for rebels

In October of 2014, we talked a bit about a slick device called the PlayBook 4 that turned a PS4 game console into a notebook of sorts for on the go gaming. You can’t type on the PlayBook 4 or surf the web like a normal notebook, but you can play PS4 games wherever you can find an outlet with this thing. A new version of that PlayBook has surfaced that is themed like your favorite astromech R2-D2.

Sony grapples for relevance with Concept for Android thrust

Despite a few rough starts, and still ongoing rough patches, Sony is committed to the mobile industry, particularly smartphones. But, based on mobile business head Hiroki Totoki's statements, its vision won't revolve primarily around the rat race that is smartphone hardware. Instead, it wants to double down on the user experience, which, in this context, practically means the Android experience. Now Sony is taking the first step towards that goal by starting what it calls its Concept for Android Initiative in Sweden to tackle exactly that problem.

Sony’s planning an animated movie about emoji

Sony’s planning an animated movie about emoji

If you don’t like receiving messages peppered with emojis, Sony’s next movie might make your eye twitch. It has been revealed that Sony Pictures Animation trumped other studios in an auction for an animated movie that will revolve around the ever-present emoji. The project was pitched by Anthony Leondis, who is also going to be co-writing the movie. Three studios were pitched, with Warner Bros and Paramount reportedly being the other two, but Sony is tipped to have been aggressive for the film and, as such, won.
