PS4 Frankenteaser appears before Xbox 720 event

We're just a few hours away from Microsoft revealing its next-generation gaming console, but Sony is trying to take a bit of the attention away from that. Yesterday, the company teased its PS4 console in a video that showed the box itself from various close-up angles, and it has created some chatter amongst the PlayStation crowd who are dying to know what the console looks like. PS4 console teased ahead of full E3 hardware details

Back in February during Sony’s PS4 reveal, the company didn’t show off the console itself because it’s merely “just a box.” Instead, we were treated with a look at the DualShock 3 controller, as well as a glimpse at some upcoming games that we can look forward to playing once the console is released. Today, however, Sony has teased the console itself, with several close-up angles that really don’t tell us much in the end.

Fresh track footage of Gran Turismo 6 has emerged, showing some of the more than 1,200 cars gamers will get to choose between, and hinting at the sort of graphics PlayStation 3 users could look forward to. Apple iRadio stymied by song-skipping issue says sources

Back in March, we reported that Apple plans to launch it iRadio streaming music service by this upcoming summer, followed up by a piece in April on its reported signing of various licensing agreements. Angry Birds movie set for 2016 debut by Sony

We've heard about the Angry Birds movie before, but Rovio has just announced today that the film will be released on July 1, 2016 and will be distributed by Sony, which will be available worldwide. Sony Japan teases Panopticon game trailer

A teaser campaign for Sony Japan's new title Panopticon has counted down to a mysterious trailer for the upcoming game, though few details are known still. Sony Japan began its countdown a week ago, though in fact it was more of a "count-up", with the clock ticking away to a "1,000,000 years"; that looks to be a repeated theme in the game itself, with floating augmented-reality clocks hovering above each character's head. Gran Turismo 6 for PS3 confirmed for holiday 2013 release

Gran Turismo 6 will hit the PS3 this holiday season, Sony has confirmed, with the hotly-anticipated game offering 1,200 different cars and 33 different locations. The game will introduce seven new locations, in fact, with 71 different layouts, 19 of which are new. Further cars and tracks will also be released online, studio Polyphony confirmed, while there’ll be big integration with real cars out on the track.

Killzone Shadow Fall PS4 tech demo shows potency of next-gen console

Jaws dropped during Sony’s demonstration of Killzone Shadow Fall for the PlayStation 4 back in February, and now new information from developers Guerrilla Games gives some technical insight on how the next-gen console runs, what coding for it is like, and just what sort of step up from the PS3 is on offer. The tech demo – which you can see after the cut – shows how the new Killzone title was running on Sony’s demo hardware, while a “postmortem” of the event by Guerrilla Games runs down the improvements of the incoming hardware.

Sony shows off 13.3-inch flexible e-ink writing tablet

Way back in September of 2010, Sony unveiled a flexible E-paper screen that it had been working on. At the time, Sony said that it had no plans to commercialize the large flexible e-ink display, but it appears things have changed. Knowing that Sony has been working on these flexible screens since at least 2010 means it's no surprise that Sony is now showing off a massive writing slate that will be trialed in Japan.
