Galaxy Note 7 leaked video confirms curved edges

Galaxy Note 7 leaked video confirms curved edges

After a brief detour towards flat land, we're now back to curved edge screens. This time not from a still photo or render but from actual moving pictures. The video comes from what is supposedly a testing of a screen protector, probably of the tempered glass type, for the Galaxy Note 7. And, as you might have guessed, it conveniently shows how the side edges of that screen neatly curves down. Which also means a somewhat harder installation of screen protectors such as this.

Galaxy Note 7 with flat screen resurfaces, reignites debate

It's almost like watching a ping pong bout. At one point in time, there was speculation that there would be two variants of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, then still the Note 6, one with a regular flat screen and another with curved edges. Since then there has been back and forth leaks and tips rooting for one or the other. Of late, it seemed that the curved variant emerged victorious. But now that might not be the case. A photo of what is billed as a prototype of the Galaxy Note 7 has appeared on the Internet and, lo and behold, it has a flat screen.

Samsung Notebook 7 2-in-1 convertible now up for grabs

It has actually been a while since Samsung put out a convertible type of laptop after the ATIV Smart PC (later renamed the ATIV Tab 7). For the first time, however, it is taking on a new form factor. Introduced last month, the Notebook 7 is the company's first laptop that can literally bend over backwards to transform into a rather hefty tablet, in the tradition of the Lenovo YOGA. Although delayed by almost a month, the Samsung Notebook 7 is now available for purchase, but do be prepared to spend quite a sum for it.

Galaxy Note 7 leaked to sport USB-C, Always On Display

Given this is Samsung we're talking about, it isn't really out of the ordinary that it would rumored to be putting anything and everything new in the upcoming Galaxy Note 7. We've already seen "proof" of, for the first time, an iris scanner on the device. Now we're getting a glimpse of two more unconfirmed features for the phablet. For one, it could also be the first Samsung smartphone to get the new USB Type-C port that other OEMs have started supporting. And, not that surprising, it is shown also getting the Always On Display introduced in the Galaxy S7.

Samsung Gear S2 update rolls out with Samsung Pay beta

While it may seem that Android Wear is on vacation of late, Samsung is pulling out all the stops to keep its Tizen-powered Gear S2 smartwatch from descending into obsolescence. It has just announced perhaps the biggest update to the wearable to date, almost amusingly called the Value Pack Update. But while it already has a ton of new features for owners to explore, it apparently also hides one little tidbit for the more tech savvy user who wants to be truly rid of paper and cards in their wallets.

Samsung Gear IconX wireless earbuds launch with in-ear fitness tracking

Samsung's newest addition to its Gear line has begun hitting the shelves: the IconX wireless earbuds. We were impressed when we got our hands (ears?) on them back in early June, with high-quality audio maintained even over a Bluetooth connection. But the IconX, which Samsung bills as "truly cord-free earbuds," do much more than just audio output; they're also a fully functional fitness tracker and heart rate monitor.

Kantar paints an interesting Samsung v Apple fight in Q2 2016

Samsung and Apple remain the world's biggest brands when it comes to smartphones so naturally every quarterly report is about those two butting heads and fighting for numero uno. While that is still true to some extent, the world is slowly starting not to revolve around those two. Market research company Kantar divulges some interesting figures in the battle among smartphone makers, and while Samsung and Apple do remain at the top, not only is the gap between them narrowing more than ever, they aren't the only ones up there anymore, too.

Galaxy Note 7 leaked photos show off its curves

Galaxy Note 7 leaked photos show off its curves

Just a few hours ago we heard word from Korean media about how the Galaxy Note 7 could possibly be even thinner than ever before, thanks to a new display technology that Samsung has been working on. And now we're actually seeing pictures of what the Galaxy Note 7 is going to be, if the source is credible, of course. And though it may not be as thin as expected from a display with integrated touch controller, it definitely looks the part, thanks to its doubly curved edges.

Galaxy Note 7 release date soon, four color photos appear

It's not quite time for the Galaxy Note 7 from Samsung to arrive on our doorstep, but we've been given another glimpse. Today we're seeing another vision of the device - not another version, but another view - this time straight on with a sticker on top. This is one of several devices that appear to be part of a testing group in Asia, where users seem to have no fear of leaking said material before the actual reveal and launch this August - more than likely. Today's views are also a lot clearer than yesterday's back in black collection of images.
