This week with the PlayStation 4 games news wave crushing Gamescom 2013, announcements of devices like the console's DUALSHOCK 4 controllers were all but thrown under the bus. Here we've got a couple of new visually stimulating color combinations from Sony itself, one in red, the other in blue. YouTube app update for iOS and Android brings “Cast” previews

Readying itself for the likes of Chromecast, PlayStation 4 (already on PS3), Google TV, and more, YouTube has been updated this week in its iOS and Android forms. This app already allowed the user to play any and all (save no-mobile) videos with ease, now the app will allow users to watch a video or Cast a video. This added bit of functionality had worked with devices like the Nexus Q and PlayStation 3 and Google TV in the past, but here we're seeing a "preview" screen appearing along with the ability to add said video to a queue.

PlayStation 4 to blast Sony Music Unlimited tracks during gameplay

With the launch of the PlayStation 4, Sony's own Music Unlimited service will be getting a rather sizable reboot. This system update will allow consoles like the PlayStation 4 to work with a new user interface that'll be allowing gamers to get a handle on the music they've purchased - or plan to purchase - much quicker and easier then in past iterations. This version of Music Unlimited will also be able to be launched from the DUALSHOCK 4 controller with a press-hold of the PS button.

Watch Dogs movie announced aside “DedSec” PS4 game trailer

It was revealed - officially, this time - that a big screen movie will be made in the near future as a collaboration between developers Ubisoft, Sony Pictures, Columbia Pictures, and New Regency. This announcement was made Ubisoft and Sony during their PlayStation 4 / PS Vita event in which they supported the release of the PlayStation 4 iteration of Watch Dogs with a new video trailer, complete with a peek at an exclusive level that'll be available only to those playing on said console. This game will be available for several platforms this holiday season.

Minecraft headed to PlayStation 4: Notch-gifted Golden PSOne a success

As the multi-platform gaming title Minecraft continues to expand in popularity with web browser, mobile, and console-based block-building action, today Sony announced the continuation of the title for PlayStation 4. This game will not be entirely exclusive to the console, coming in a Minecraft: Xbox One Edition from Mojang Studios with the launch of the Xbox One this holiday season, but it will have unique content. As it is with the developed-in-part-with-Microsoft Minecraft for Xbox One, so too shall the Sony-aimed Minecraft, ready for release by the time the console is out in stores: November 15th, 2013.

PlayStation 4 launch November 15th, 32 countries by holiday season

This week during Sonys Gamescom appearance it was announced that the PlayStation 4 would be formally released on the 15th of November inside the USA. Through Europe, the PlayStation 4 was announced to be available starting on the 29th of November, while the device would be available in a total of 32 Countries this holiday season. This follows up on suggestion from Sony that the device would be released later in the year, close to the holiday season in general.

Shadow of the Beast rebooted for PlayStation 4 [UPDATE]

This week the folks at Sony have reintroduced the game Shadow of the Beast as a title that'll be released to PlayStation 4 exclusively. Working with a monster of a character from a 3rd person perspective, this title will be reborn with high-definition graphics and a varied set of camera angles. While it would appear that this game will be taking on a similar vibe with the original release, this version will certainly be bringing on a wide variety of new bits and pieces: enemies, user abilities, and tag-along assistant fighters to boot.
