Watch Dogs gameplay details spilled

Watch Dogs gameplay details spilled

This week we've had the opportunity to have a peek at some Watch Dogs gameplay action never before seen by the public, courtesy of Ubisoft and NVIDIA, the latter group holding a gaming event this week in Montreal. As this work has not been finalized, we've not been allowed to film it - but we can talk about it. Here you'll find the likes of an incredibly immersive gameplay system, the likes of which certainly appear to live up to the expectations set by Ubisoft laid down in the months leading up to this point in time.

Ubisoft kicks Watch Dogs release back to 2014

Ubisoft kicks Watch Dogs release back to 2014

It would appear that the folks at Ubisoft aren't entirely ready to roll out their titles Watch Dogs and The Crew just yet, as they've pushed the titles back from the 2013-14 season to 2014-15 instead. This morning's announcement came with word that the company would also be adjusting financial targets for the coming season, owing largely to the change of dates for the two relatively large title releases. The games will be ready to roll for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 starting next year.

GTA Online stimulus cash heads to early adopters as Title Update fixes game

Supposing you're a Grand Theft Auto fan and you've not gotten onboard with GTA 5 and the Grand Theft Auto Online universe yet, Rockstar Games is pushing an initiative today that'll have you thinking twice. Done specifically because of the collection of server errors that appeared at launch with this online version of the game, Rockstar is making with some cash deposits in online citizens banks. Made in installments of $250,000, all players of the game online will be given a total of $500,000 total - half a million bucks - for the trouble they likely went through when they logged on in the first place.

Foxconn PlayStation 4 labor policies broken for student interns

Foxconn PlayStation 4 labor policies broken for student interns

It would appear that the team responsible keeping labor policies intact for at least one Foxconn manufacturing plant in China is in it deep this week as a group of students was found to be working well beyond their normal allotment of intern hours. What we've got here is a set of student engineering majors headed for graduation at the Xi'an Institute of Technology working specifically on an order of Sony's next gaming console: the PlayStation 4. These students worked on a series of tasks at a Foxconn plant which had them staying late and working overtime - strictly against student intern rules in the plant.

PlayStation DualShock 4 confirmed compatible with Windows PCs

PlayStation DualShock 4 confirmed compatible with Windows PCs

This week it's been confirmed that the newest generation of Sony gaming peripherals - namely the DualShock 4 wireless controller - will be working with Windows machines. This is somewhat of a surprise revelation made by Sony for the PlayStation 4-aimed piece of equipment, mainly because there's no word from opposing camps (Nintendo for the WiiU and Microsoft for the Xbox One) of any sort of similar functionality for their controllers. Word comes from none other than Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios for Sony Computer Entertainment.

Grand Theft Auto Online update hits PS3, Xbox 360 coming soon

Grand Theft Auto Online update hits PS3, Xbox 360 coming soon

Those waiting for the update to get up and running with Grand Theft Auto Online for GTAV can begin hitting the download button immediately - supposing they're working with a PlayStation 3, that is. The Xbox 360 update to the GTA Online universe will be released soon - if not as soon as this afternoon. These update will both bring about major stability fixes for the game and (hopefully) will allow more players to actually log in in the first place.

Grand Theft Auto Online issues update as soon as tomorrow

Grand Theft Auto Online issues update as soon as tomorrow

As the Grand Theft Auto Online universe continues its less-than-perfect launch week, the folks at Rockstar Games have issued a note that suggests a full-on software update will be brought on as early as tomorrow. This update will bring about a host of fixes for the game for issues that have popped up over the past several days, these issues including log-in errors for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 right off the bat. And not the bat you see in the upper-right-hand corner of the title image you're seeing here.

Grand Theft Auto Online is down for many, not just you

Grand Theft Auto Online is down for many, not just you

Here on launch day for the Grand Theft Auto V (or GTA 5, whichever you prefer) online edition, it would appear that the suggestions of a server meltdown of sorts were not entirely unfounded. What's being seen across the grid - throughout the United States, at least - is the inability to launch online at all. Seeing an apology from Rockstar cloud services appears to be the predominant experience this morning as the Grand Theft Auto Online universe launches for the first time.

PlayStation 4 PSN boost will avoid GTA5-style download nightmare Sony says

PlayStation 4 PSN boost will avoid GTA5-style download nightmare Sony says

Sony has committed to boosting the PlayStation Network in time for the PlayStation 4, after the online game arena faltered at the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 leaving some players struggling to download or install the hotly-anticipated title. Concerns as to how the PS4 - which will feature bigger game downloads and more online components - would cope when the existing model could not left some would-be PlayStation 4 upgraders second-guessing their next-gen console selection. However, the gaming division's UK boss has insisted, that's not going to be the case.

Grand Theft Auto Online in-game payments for cash: Rockstar confirms

As Microsoft gears up for a rockstar-like world tour of its latest flagship gaming product Xbox One, Rockstar North has dropped a bombshell that has its doggedly loyal fan base foaming at the mouth. In a blog post last week, the game development giant confirmed that its highly anticipated blockbuster Grand Theft Auto Online will indeed allow for real micro-payments in exchange for in-game cash. Gamers immediately flooded the comments with concerns this could upset the delicate balance of power in this game of mindless brute force.
