Music rhythm game ‘Thumper’ confirmed as PlayStation VR launch game

PlayStation VR early adopters now have another cool looking game to choose from when the virtual reality headset debuts on October 13th. Thumper, a unique, music "rhythm hell" game from developer Drool, has just been confirmed as a PSVR launch title. Priced at only $20, Thumper will also be released on Steam on the same day, and even better for PS4 players is that the game will support play both in VR and on a standard 2D television.

‘Paragon’ early access comes to PS Plus next month

PlayStation Plus members will be getting early access to 'Paragon,' Sony has announced, with that early access being slated for July 5. Next month will also be bringing a handful of free games -- also for PlayStation Plus members -- including Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Prince of Persia: Revelation. The full lineup of free PS Plus games will include two for the PS Vita, two for the PlayStation 3, and two for the PlayStation 4.

If you're a PlayStation 4 gamer that likes to broadcast your gameplay live on the Ustream service, you've got about one month to move your streaming to another platform. Sony has announced that the PS4 will be dropping support for Ustream on August 1st, meaning players won't be able to stream to it, nor will they be able to find Ustream content on the console's "Live from PlayStation" section.

Destiny developer Bungie gives more details on leaving PS3, Xbox 360 behind

When Destiny's upcoming expansion, Rise of Iron, was officially revealed during a livestream just a few days before E3, developer Bungie clearly stated that the content would not be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, now referred to as "legacy consoles." In other words, all future development and releases would be exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. Now Bungie has revealed more concrete details about how Destiny will work on those older consoles, and how players can migrate their progress to the current platforms.

While Microsoft was only too happy to tease the E3 2016 crowd with its Project Scorpio console, noticeably missing from the showroom floor and news was the PlayStation Neo, a.k.a. the PlayStation 4.5. Even Nintendo name dropped its NX console in announcing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of Fresh Air the Wild. Apparently, there is a reason for that. One of Sony's biggest announcements at E3 2016 this week was the official release date of PlayStation VR, along with some of its launch titles.
